Does anyone know why Ford deleted wireless charging for S650 MY25?

My 24 has it. My wife has a phone case with a metal piece on the back. She tried to use it and the metal piece got so hot it burned her when she picked it up. I'd like to delete mine.

They could have done what Honda did on my 2025 Ridgeline. Put an on/off button on the charging pad. I rarely use it so it’s nice to have the small additional space and the ability to charge my phone if need be.

Probably a cost cutting move. Which is really unfortunate. Wireless charging is a common and expected feature on most new car premium trim packages. I have no issues with mine.

I've had half a dozen cars with inductive phone charging features, and not a one of them worked worth a damn unless you removed the case. Even then, most sucked.

Yea, can't find the thread but if you look you probably would. It's a piece of the same material the liner is made out of - clips in at the top and a single screw holding it on at the bottom.

Mine is a MY25 GT and it doesn’t come with the wireless charging. I’ve also seen a picture confirming this. I personally like this function but not sure why they removed it for MY25.

Ford may have deleted the Phone Charging option because it didn’t live up to their Expectations.
My 2024 GT seems to work correctly, most of the time.

While the potential to concur exists, I wonder if the ‘hidden james bond - use in case of emergency ( no cord = breakglass ie fire extinguisher on the wall of old type) not intended for full time use function’ became more a source of complaint than praise.
