I’m new to this forum, but have been on the 6G site for a while.
Many of the OP’s I see here have been amply covered as a 6G topic.
People new to Mustangs in general may want to scan the history on both of these sites prior to creating a post.
It’s just a suggestion. There is a BUNCH of great info out there to be absorbed.
Most is great reading. Enjoy this day of Freedom that the brave have brought us!

I was on the 6g site for years. I am surprised how many redundant topics come up here as well. Particularly with Magneride and active exhaust. I'm just waiting for newbies to start posting about the weird BBQ/typewriter tick 😂.

Well, everyone was a "newbie" at one time, and in fact, everyone was a newbie at everything at one time, as in "birth". I think those that helped me have, what I consider a very successful life thus far.

Without "newbies" here, Mustangs would fade away so, if anything, they should be thanked and appreciated for being a part of continuing the legend.

I am a newbie to 7th gens. but not to Mustang GT's. I'm on my forth one. I don't know everything about Mustang GT's and neither does anybody else. Perhaps these repugnant people, to some people, need to be tolerated a little more when compared to the self-described experts as defined by number of years on a forum. If newbies are so obnoxious to "experienced" people, they can be taken out through the "ignore" function on this forum. There ya go. Over and out.

My purpose for the post was to help educate the newest arrivals to the Mustang world. Not to denigrate, but to enlighten, that there is already an incredible amount of info in the forum archives.

Crazy that this is your first thread on the 7th gen forum with now only 3 reactions.
You came here just to complain? What a great way of joining this forum.
Just out of curiosity, is it complaining to let others know that they can research a topic themselves without asking a question to the overall forum? I think not. I was one that did some of the same things. Took me a while to realize that most of my curiosities had already been answered. We are all here to help. Been doing that since the seventies when I had my first 1Gen. At least 25 mustangs later, there is still plenty to learn. Cheers

I’m in the same boat as a few others. It’s my first Mustang and a 6 speed GT at that. I’ve heard this and that about the MT82 so when I started driving mine and noticed it has some “character” to it. In the mornings sometimes 1-2 is stiff. At low speeds the gear changes are audible. But the car overall shifts perfectly fine so I’m not complaining or making a trip to service for it lol. Rest of the car is super solid.

Yes, the MT82 has some “Character”.
Don’t neglect fluid changes. Ford doesn’t always fill trannies correctly from the factory either. Comparing it to the MT is also why the Tremec has received such accolades. The basic GT with a manual is still one of the best bang-for -the-buck cars there is.
Every car has quirks.

Yeah I wrote off whatever silly shit nitpickers have to say. People make post and complain about the littlest things. I absolutely love driving it. It pops occasionally on shifts/slight blip of throttle at a stop and it’s fun. Drove it 5.5 hours on a 300 mile trip and it was very comfortable for me.

Let's not forget we're here to "meet" and have some banter with people who share at least one interest. I find that easier to do in the various forums here rather than searching for stuff all over.

Luigi,
Do you guys(gals) have an active “Cars and coffee” down there? My ignorance assumes this, but every culture is different. It’s a great way to meet up.

Here's my take...

Yes, we share a lot with the 550's, and they've been around a while, but there are some differences in our cars that are worth talking about. Take the BBQ tick for example, we have a 4th Gen Coyote, and while it's the same issue, we didn't know until people started sharing that they have the same problem.

I think it's fine to link to the 6G forum if a post comes up, but I wouldn't jump on anybody for not going there first. We are trying to build up the same encyclopedia of info on the 7G, and we are all finding the similarities and differences in that process.
