Interesting video, and some good observations on each car. I think it would have been a better track comparison if the DH was an auto though.

So Chevy stops building a car in the same class as the Mustang. So now everyone just goes oh well let's just compare it to a mid engine all wheel drive hyper car thats not in the same class. It makes no sense. Just a cheap way for chevy guys to pound their chests over it. Plain stupid.

That base C8 isn't all wheel drive. It's the cheap one, not the $400bigillion dollar ZR1, or even the E-whatever one they make.

But it's still not a great comparison, just the closest they have.

Coupe with a back seat… that’s the class.
Those are the only 2 on the market in that price range.
Maybe m4 but you’re over $90k

Umm, the Corvette was never in the same class. And I certianly wouldn't call the base Vette a hypercar. Lol

But since there isn't anymore direct competition, here we are, comparing inline 6 turbos and mid engine Corvettes to Mustangs. I still thought it was a good video.

I'm in the apples and oranges group. The Corvette should not be there, or alse compare it to other mid engine rear drive cars.
Something testers never mention, probably because they don't buy and run the cars, which would you want 10 years on, M2 or S650?
I'm not a millionaire so I couldn't afford to run an older Beemer.

I really don’t know why the other two get compared with the Corvette. Being mid engined it really is an apples and oranges comparison.
FYI my garage:

It seems that many people don’t know that the goal of Chevrolet, starting all the way back in 1953, was to compete with the European sports car market, not any make / models in the American market. Like you, I own a C8 Z51 and a GT and I don’t get the comparison game that goes on between the two. They are both excellent vehicles and do a awesome job for what they’re designed to do. If the brass and bean counters at Chevy hadn’t chopped blocked engineer Zora Duntov, the Corvette would have went mid-engined in the 1960’s. If you’re a true ā€œcar guyā€ you’ll enjoy doing some research on Zora Duntov. Not only was he an automotive engineer, he raced cars here and in Europe, taking what he learned on the road circuit tracks to the drawing board.

Zora did a lot of great things for Chevrolet/Corvette but I feel Shelby was better. He did what Zora couldn’t do.

No doubt that Shelby was on top of his game and accomplished great things for Ford and himself personally. If Zora had the backing from the Chevy brass that Shelby did from Ford, there’s no telling what he could’ve accomplished as well.

You guys need to watch. The dark horse is reviewed very favorably and all three's choice for driver experience on track. M2 being least favorite. As usual the s650s interior is the least liked.
Seems the early reports of steering vagueness and disconnected driving experience for the mustang dissipated. Mustang is in their opinion the most connected and fun? What say it aint so… lol thx.
