It is a reduction in rotating mass.
like any mod, what has its value
Only issue I have is that you can end up with vibrations very easily.
To me it may not be worth the possible headaches where wheels are easy mod with my jack in the driveway

Off topic of a CAI, I had QA1 carbon driveshafts on my previouse 2016 GT and 2018 GT350R. They were smooth as stock and half the weight. Stock 2 piece shaft weighs 30lbs. QA1 no longer makes driveshafts so I ordered a Driveshaft Shop driveshaft. Complete vibrating garbage. Just installed an aluminum shaft from Full Torque Driveshafts and it is 100% smooth, no NVH, and weighs 18lbs. But now I am questioning my Steeda intakes...

Exactly my point , no time and energy to play with drive shaft problems.
Glad you got it figured out though and I’m sure you feel more instant throttle response which is what I want.

Throttle body spacers are a scam. Only useful if you need them to fit your intake back on etc

I wouldnt say they are a scam. I've used them on other cars and felt a little better throttle response. But to each their own. I haven't bought them for the mustang yet though. If you are itching for a mod, they are cheap enough to scratch that itch. Rather buy them than cold air intakes for $600 plus

They don't do anything. It doesn't even make sense that they would work.

Thats a matter of opinion. Its always about 50/50 of people that are for/against them. At the end of the day its just a simple mod that isn't going to do much so take it or leave it.

I've struggled with the whole cold air intake concept. Simply opening up the air box in the engine compartment ~might~ increase air flow, but frankly, how much cooler can the air be from ambient? Given that cooler air will make more horsepower, certainly a chiller (like on the Whipple kits and the like) makes sense, but just opening the airbox doesn't seem like a big change. I've seen a video of before and after dyno performance of someone removing the carbon traps on the S650 GT and I think the difference was on the order of 1-2 HP, another mod that doesn't seem worth the effort to me. As far as filters, I'm trying out the Steeda high flow filters in the stock air box. I do have a concern about the oiled filter holding debris, but I'll monitor it and see.
The car will tell you what the intake temp. is running, allegedly real time. Mine usually runs very close to ambient so where does the "cold air" come from?. Another way of asking what you just did ^^^.

Ambient air is the "cold air"

underhood air is going to be like 120 degrees

@Frogdog1 ..... if your intake is reading close to ambient temperature that is very good! The snorkels that lead from each air box to the front of the grille bring in the coolest air possible - air that is hitting the grille as you drive. The alternative used to be air that entered the engine air intake came from inside the engine "cavity" and was a lot hotter than the ambient air! Ford has a great idea with the snorkels that channel air in from the front grille.

The theory of intake length tuning is sound. Some bikes have variable length intake tubes in the airbox.
But I doubt spacers are that sophisticated.
