I spoke in DEPTH with the technicians and apparently, like had already been said by some here, the last update has been extremely troubling for some vehicles. Unsure if the update bricked my screen. I have a feeling I just got a bad unit, but I’m wishing this new one is troublefree. I’m glad the reset works though! Hopefully that’s the last time!
UPDATEI took my 2024 Mustang GT to the dealership on 2 different occasions for that issue and they are currently replacing the APIM. Hopefully I'll get my car back this week.
A little update, it's now June 24th. I picked my car up after then having it 2 weeks. Less than 24 hours after getting it back, the issue resumed. I took it back to the dealership and as of today, they've had it 3 weeks. (A total of 5 weeks). have you asked the dealership about a possible screen swap? After my screen swap there’s been no issues.
You’re a lot more patient than me. I’m afraid I’d raise Hell, maybe not with the dealer, but Ford. If the third try, doesn’t correct the situation, I’d ask for another option with respect to the entire car.
The first time i took it in, they said it was a bad battery terminal. The second time they changed the APIM. When I called for an update (the 3rd time they've had it) they said FoMoCo is having them test the battery. I asked them about putting a whole new unit in but dealership said they can only do what FoMoCo tells them to do. I told them it's not the freaking battery and it's overheating but clearly they are smarter than me. I'm hoping they'll do something now that I've went the route of filing a Lemon Law. My claim has been accepted but I've never had to deal with this kinda stuff and I don't know anyone who has dealt with lemon law so I guess I'll wait some more and see what Ford will do. The dealership is tired of me and I'm tired of not having my car.
I know my brother went through this on a used car years ago. Got his money, but not sales tax. I don’t know if it’s changed. Other than that, all you can do is consult friends and the internet.
