Car shakes/RPM limit in park or neutral

When I try to rev the engine in park or neutral, it only goes up to 4/5k rpm before the car violently shakes and won't go any higher rpms. I don't have this problem in drive. Is that normal??

100% normal. if i remember right, its to prevent torque converter damage (even though the Raptor R, which has the same transmission, can go all the way to redline in park and neutral)

Make sure you have launch control deactivated, have the manual, and will only rev to revs set
in launch control if turned on.....found out the hard way when I was trying to show off, and the car made less noise than a camry

Lots of modern cars do some form of neutral limiting... my daily driver (cadillac) won't rev fast in neutral... step on the pedal fast and the revs will only come up very slowly (revs actually climb faster in gear)... likely to protect the VVT components or some such thing.
