Cams and Tunes available for Dark Horse Mustang?

so i own a dark horse mustang, the first thing i’ve wanted to do is cam it but don’t know where to even begin. San Antonio is the nearest big city from where i live and need to find a trusted shop to do the work. i’d appreciate it if anyone can share some knowledge.

Neither are available for this generation of mustang yet, but rumors are that tune will be unlocked soon. Don't think you'll see a set of cams until that happens, so probably sometime late next year or even year after.

Forget the cams. Get the blower. For the same ballpark money, you’ll get like-stock driveability, an insane level of power, and retain your warranty.

the stock cams on these cars are pretty good actually.

cams are not worth it unless you are looking to get every single bit of power you possibly can and are willing to throw everything else, including your money, out the window. Whipple stage 2 already brings you to 875hp on 91 or 93. e85 and a smaller pulley will make that even more once you can actually run e85 properly in the S650 (needs a tune and some other stuff). the valvetrain and cylinder heads on the coyotes are amazing as-is, IIRC they achieve over 100% volumetric efficiency

Nobody has released any tuning software for the 2024 GT yet, except Whipple who developed the Ford Performance Supercharger kit, and now somehow Roush has a tune for their forced induction unit.

When you see what it takes to do cams in this motor you'll think twice about doing it unless the existing OEM cams, chains, or VCT mechanisms have failed. Luckily the Mustang gets the better oil pump drive, much better than say the F150, but many people do upgrade the oil pump if they are that far into the engine

IMHO you want to go fast, in the $13000 price range, Whipple is the way to go

No custom tuning is available yet and no idea when it's expected to be released. Even if tuning becomes available as others have said the cost to do cams really isn't worth it.

Your best bet would be to just save up for a Whipple kit as they are making some insane power and come with tuning.
