part of a club / association, i.e. SCCA, NASA or freelancing?
Currently doing HPDE mostly with Just Track It, but I have been looking at getting involved in some SCCA events here in the Southeast.

After much contemplating what route to go with the setup of my car interior, I settled on the following for the track.

1. Watson Racing 4 Point Cage
2. Cobra Nogaro Circuit Seats with PCI slider mounts
3. Schroth Quick Fit Pro harness with sub straps (6 point)
4. NecksGen Rev2 Carbon HNR
5. Element fire extinguisher

I finally completed the install this evening. None of the items were that difficult to install by myself, but it certainly would have been more work getting the cage installed if I didn’t have a lift. I’m very happy with the way everything turned out and am excited to head to Barber at the end of the month.

If you get more serious about this, look into NASA, I think you'd enjoy it alot.

I assume you did not do anything to defeat the airbag light, so you are getting a light in the dash?

You are correct. I have not done anything to defeat the airbags, and I do get the airbag warning light since I have none of the seat sensors or seat airbags installed.

Thanks for the suggestion. I’ve seen those, but I haven’t seen anything like that for the S650. Plus, there is possibly a lot more that would have to be done because not having the factory seats also means disconnecting the sensors for the seatbelt as well as the seat position and occupancy. There could be others as well, but I’m not certain. I figure in my car’s current state, one of two things would happen with the airbags.

1. They don’t work at all. I find this unlikely, but this would actually be fine with the harness, helmet and hnr.
2. The airbags deploy, including the front airbag at full force thinking I’m not wearing a seatbelt, vs a reduced force as would normally occurs with a seatbelt. With my seat position, 6 point harness and hnr, I don’t expect my body would contact much if any of the front airbag. The rest of the airbags I don’t see as there being any issues with deploying while wearing a helmet.
