If you drive your car on public highways or roads with traffic, you might as well get used to dings, chips, and the possibility of damage like this - and be prepared to get it fixed. It's inevitable. The only way to avoid it is to not drive it, or at least not drive it where other vehicles are within 100 yards.

I know that's a fact, it is just a bummer though beings I have lived on this stretch of highway for 38 years, and a lot of my family does also and over the years and our more daily driven cars we have had we only have had one windshield get a chip and nothing like this and it had to be the Mustang. I know it is not the end of the world, and I will move on, but it is defiantly still a sore subject when I look at it. I am not angry or upset really, just bummed.

Damn! That sucks!

I was leaving my daughter's house about a month ago; gravel truck with covered load heading in the opposite direction; got a stone peck in my windshield. Nowhere near as bad as what you got! That rascal must have sounded like a gun shot going off! Best of luck getting it fixed!

I feel the pain. 3 weeks of owning mine, someone dinged my quarter panel with their door, I hit a deer, then my windshield was hit with a rock. The roads aren't kind sometimes 🤣

I also agree it is a perfect excuse for a nice hood :)

A friend had a door ding in his 2025 Mustang and took it to a highly recommended ding repair center. The tech told him that the sheet metal on the new Mustangs were extremely thin and even tho he tried his best to repair it, the ding puller wouldn't stay popped out. Guess money saving for Ford....make them 1/2 as thick as before.

All new cars have thin sheet metal, more plastic, and more aluminum today. Ford trucks have aluminum body panels which are heck to repair, if they can be. Manufacturers are attempting to lighten up cars to meet ridiculous CAFE standards. Part of why your car insurance is sky high is that cars cost a ton to repair IF they can repaired now.

The hood is aluminum and different from the rest of the sheet metal.

It also sounds like that dent puller wasn't very good.
