I have a 2021 Mustang GT and I was notified through my Ford app there had been a recall for the brake Fluid indicator warning in Oct 2023. I called to make an appointment to have the recall fixed and was told that it could take up to two weeks and there was no rental car option which would’ve left me without a vehicle so I opted to wait on getting the recall done. Sometime thereafter I got in the car turned it on one day and I got an error message on the dash saying that my pre-collision assist was unavailable. With that I also noticed my cruise control stopped functioning. My lane minding system stopped functioning and my automatic headlight dimming function stopped functioning. skip two about eight months later down the road and I’m involved in an accident where someone pulls out in front of me. I bring my vehicle to the body shop, which is not a Ford shop mind you and I’m having the repairs done. I assumed that since I was involved in a front in collision that when the vehicle was repaired, it would also take care of the pre-collision assist and what not errors. It did not when I inquired to the body shop about that whole system I was told they ran all the checks and what not and the reason for the errors was due to the recall, referencing the brake system and the BCdue to the recall, referencing the brake system and the Bcm. They explained to me that because there was a breaking system ABS issue that the recall was going to correct the pre-collision assist the lane minding and the adaptive cruise control were not functioning because they’re all tied into the breaking system and once the recall was fixed, those system should come back online. It made perfect sense to me. So here we are two years later from the initial recall and I’m finally bringing my vehicle to the shop to get the recall fixed. I asked my service advisor about the preclusion assist in the lane minding and all of that stuff when I drop my vehicle off, I told them that I understood that that would fix that fix itSo here we are two years later from the initial recall and I’m finally bringing my vehicle to the shop to get the recall fixed. I asked my service advisor about the preclusion assist in the lane minding and all of that stuff when I drop my vehicle off, I told them that I understood that those systems were tied in together with the ABS and the brake system recall, and by getting a recall fixed, those systems would also be fixed. According to the service department, they fixed the recall, but none of those systems are functioning still and they’re telling me that I have to bring my vehicle back and pay for a diagnostic so that they can figure out what the problem is. Well, we already know what the problem is there was an issue with the breaking system and so the breaking involved with the pre-collision assist the breaking involved with the adaptive cruise control, and the potential breaking with the lane mining system went off-line because of the recall. So I’m not sure exactly what to do. I don’t wanna have to pay for a diagnostic on the vehicle when they already know what the problem is and it’s all tied into the recall so any suggestions as to how I should go about handling this on Monday when I bring my vehicle back at 8 AM for the third time would be greatly appreciated. Or if there’s somebody out there that knows more about this than I do and I’ve been told wrong or I understand wrong. Please help me clarify thank you.
