Those are great stories, but I believe I've got them all beat ... :)

Back in 2016, I was on my way to the Cadillac dealer to pick up a brand new 2016 CTS-V. Everything was done, I had the two-party check for ~$80K-something in my hand, and I was driving towards the dealership to sign some papers and pick up the car.

About 500 yards before the Cadillac dealership on the same side of the road was a Chevrolet dealership. As I approached, I noticed there were a couple of new 2016 Corvettes parked out front. IIRC, one was yellow and the other red.

Just for sh*ts and giggles, I pulled into the Chevy dealership, parked, and walked over to look at those two cars. Within a couple of minutes, a salesman approaches me. We chatted for a few minutes about the cars, and I told him I was just about to go pick up my new CTS-V.

At one point, I said, "Yea, I really like these Corvettes, but don't like yellow or red. The only way I would consider buying one would be if it was an all black Z06 coupe with the 2LZ package.

He smiled and said, "Follow me".

We walked into the showroom and *smack dab* in the middle of that showroom floor was a brand new all black 2016 Corvette Z06 coupe with the 2LZ package.

Suffice it to say, I never made it the remaining 500 yards down the road to the Cadillac dealership.

After a test drive, he gave me the key fob and told me to take the Z06 home, even though I had NOT yet purchased it.

I was back up at the dealership the next day with a two-party check for the Z06, where I signed the paperwork.

I'll never forget that particular timeline of events.

Oh, and that salesman? He was the newest and youngest salesperson there. IIRC, I believe it was one of if not his very first sale ... ;)

That was my 2014 Mustang GT behind the Corvette.
Great story! Everything happens for a reason right.

Out here near Bowling Green, Oh, they tried to force everyone to have nitrogen injected into their tires at sale and as part of the contract. I found a car elsewhere.
Nitrogen makes up 78% of the air we breathe.

Consumer Reports: "There is a stronger case to be made for nitrogen for high-tire-pressure, heavy-duty applications, ranging from large commercial trucks to airplanes. But based on our experience with passenger cars and these test results, consumers would be better served—and would save their money—by just using air in their tires and checking them monthly."

I mean... I bought my ’24 Dark Horse off the showroom floor dealership dirt and gravel lot last year.

The best new vehicle story I can come up with was my ‘2009 Ducati 1198s. It was a total fanboy purchase. In 2008, Troy Bayliss, a 2x World Superbike championship winner announced ’08 would be his last racing season, regardless of outcome. He campaigned a new model 1098R - which is a misnomer, it was 1198cc’s. He dominated pretty much the entire season, and won both of his final races in Portugal. When Ducati announce the ’09 1198, and press reports rolled in, I had to have it. I landed one at the local stealership at MSRP, new in the crate, literally assembled right in front of me. It was a true love/hate relationship, something like 6 recalls, and anything at street speeds was an exercise in frustration. But, when you leaned it into a turn way, way too fast, it just stuck and stuck and stuck. When I got rid of it, I was glad but from a performance perspective, it was a really impressive machine. More of the purist experience, with very little that didn’t help it go faster or stop faster.

But really can’t complain about the ’24 Dark Horse, it really does make driving a car fun.

I bought a Ducati I couldn’t afford back when I was 20 years old and broke with a new born on the way. It was 1 of 200 in US on the showroom floor. What a bike

@Germansheperd ..... and blue vapor metallic, sure will look great in the sun.....the color changes in pretty cool ways depending on the ambient light! The questions will be a pita but I answer them all good naturedly.
My son just bought the same color. I like the color shift, as I still drive an e90 in Jerez Black that has a very cool deep blue color shift. I thought that vapor was a great color, and the only one with a manual within 200 miles of us.

Did the same thing this week! Had my eye on this one for a few weeks, and after another price drop, and the decision it was time to sell the Shelby, picked it up off the showroom floor! $4,765 under MSRP.

Did the same... right off my dealership's floor... When I was getting my F-150 serviced.

I definitely like the Red Dark Horse.
I haven’t seen any colors around here except for Black or White.

It could have been depending on the MSRP. I paid straight invoice of $69,705 against an MSRP of $73,260.
