Are the last 4 VIN numbers the same as the ones in Dark Horse plaque?

Easy peasy, if my VIN ends in XXYY, is my dark horse plaque going to be XXYY? Thanks!

No. They are sequentially numbered chassis numbers.

VIN and plaque have no correlation; it's random. The car's VIN will be stamped on the engine block.

For the Mach 1s, the lineman would reach into a bucket full of chassis plaques and place one on the car.

And on various locations around the vehicle. After all, it's a VIN, not an EIN ... 😉

Yes. I learned that a short time ago.

Overseas folks, looking to confirm an actual chassis VIN for customs, will often have the carpeting cutback by one of the interior seats; the VIN is stamped there. It would seem it's the easiest place to check, versus removing body panels and checking underneath.
