Best oil drain pan when using ramps

Just talked with my Ford dealer service manager and they will do an oil and filter change as the first appointment at 7:30am next week, for their $35 labor total cost with me bringing my own 10 quarts of PUP and oil filter both bought cheap from Amazon.

Total cost for the oil change including my supplied oil and filter will total about $105. I'll pass on going "salamander" under my car and dealing with oil for $35 any day. No muss, no fuss, cheaply bought oil and filter and off I go for a while. Can't beat that.

Yeah, the parts cost what they cost but $35 labor charge is what I thought was amazing considering shop rates are $165 an hour on the low side nowadays. I'll pay $35 not to crawl under my car any day.

As an adder, their lowest tenured Tech has been there 10 years with the others having been there around 20+ years. They pay them well too so, little turnover. I consider that another plus. It's the most unusual dealership I've ever bought a car from and dealt with.....so far.

As a tech, I believe my work was $180 an hour if I remember correctly, granted it was a more specialized kind of work.
I know some dealers in CT that charge $300, hahah

I do my own oil changes so I can make sure it is done correctly, and it gives me a chance to take a look/inspect under the car.

I don't know what "retired" means, RLE55......interesting concept though. I just don't work. Been there, done that. It was fun most of the time. Worked for companies then decided having my own company would be more rewarding and it is or was, however I want to look at it. I still pay taxes under an LLC.

Started, at 17 y.o. working in offshore drilling for a great company during 5 summers while going to a great university. Got a degree(s), went to work making less money than offshore around the world but was on the career ladder with a nice education through work and academically. Continued to climb the ladder while continuing my education, then decided work wasn't necessary any more after adding up my assets, so I just stopped doing that.

Key words: work, education, more education, more work, and no f--king debt (slavery).

Add it all up and here I am with a Mustang I like (so far) and messing around on a Mustang forum on a Sunday afternoon reading my post on oil pans, LOL! Peace!

Bigger pan (Walmart) to drain from the plug
Smaller pan (Harbor Freight) for the filter area
