I ordered a 24 GT Convertible with the 10 speed. I’m having a great time beating the snot out of my buddy’s 21GT Coupe with headers and a tune. Nearly 3/4 second faster. The only thing I have done is an H pipe, pulled carbon trap filters, replaced stock air filters with Steeda filters.

Even if you left the carbon filters and stock air filters on you'd still beat him. À10s coupled with S650s are a winning combination. People with A10s have fun winning. People with six speeds enjoy losing. They say their having more fun? It's just an excuse do disguise their disgust for a bad decision they made. Wait until they hang up on you here, then point their fingers at you as you're the bad guy here.

I ordered a GT Premium Convertible, 6-speed, PP and Magnaride in May. I sat in front of the salesman at the dealership. The salesman and I reviewed the computer screen together selecting the colors and options I wanted. I walked away with a copy of the order and a receipt for my deposit.

Next day I got the first ‘Ford’ email acknowledging the order for the car, that emails would follow as the order progressed. To my surprise later that day the salesman whom I met and ordered the car with called and said he cancelled the order. The order was done under the wrong dealership. It took him 4 orders to get the options correctly. Ford sent emails for 2 of the 3. The 3rd one was right..

The car being built does not have a 6-speed, it's an automatic. It’s one of the orders the salesman got wrong..

It’s in production this week and will likely be shipped soon. I told him I wanted first dibs on the car with employee pricing that lowers the MSRP nearly 6k. If I order a 26 like I want it will run about 70 or so..

My question is.. are you satisfied with the 10 speed auto trans performance or are you aching for a 6-speed? Want to know how stick shift drivers experience driving with the automatic.

Here is the car I am waiting for..

So the dealer got the order wrong. Sounds to me like they need to make you whole. This means they order a 26 as you wanted your 25, and at WORST they charge you the price that it would have been on the 25 model - assuming it was a nice bit lower - and really they should be cutting you a deal based off said 25 price. Call it employee pricing based off the 25 MSRP for your config. That's how they need to get this done for you.

If you are happy with the A10, then take it. You asked for the manual 6 speed for a reason though. Don't take the A10 and ignore that little voice in the back of your mind that is screaming for a stick shift. 😁

I beat stock 10 speeds from a roll with my stock manual transmission…

My honest answer is I like the auto better.
I love my adaptive cruise control lol.
So while yes, the manuals can come with the adaptive cruise, it’s not as robust? as in the automatic being able to just set the cruise in slow traffic and have it take me from 15mph back up to 75mph and back down again with out having to shift is just super nice.
and all the shifting… so much shifting in traffic lol.
This is all to say, if it is going to be your daily and your commute involves traffic, I would opt for the auto.
if you are going to build the vehicle purely for racing, it’s negligible, but the auto is proving out to be about .5 seconds faster in the 1/4 from what I’m finding.
If you’ve never owned a manual, I would opt for the manual, it’s just more fun and engaging and worth the experience.
Long and short is, you will always want both but you will not really be missing out with either.
With that said, mine is an auto, but I’ve changed out the shifter plate to look like a manual lol. Cuz I just like the look 🤣

So we have people changing automatics to look more like manuals- other threads with people how to rev while moving like a manual.....

I guess its kind of like ........well you always see vegetarians trying to make their food taste like meat but you never see carnivores trying to make their steak taste like salad : )

PS A10 owners please take this as friendly banter - I really do like the A10 transmission/ previously owned one......just having a little fun with y'all : )

The auto shows you how good the car is the manual shows you how good the driver is. Honestly drive it and enjoy it. Remember happiness isnt around the corner it is the corner.

If the regular GT had a Tremec this conversation would be more interesting

Facts. The Tremec is excllent. Although having driven both the Tremec and MT82, I do think the criticism on the Getrag is bit over blown.

I had a 14 GT with the MT82 and now a 24 with it. They are not even remotely similar to drive. It’s not perfect, but I don’t have any issues with mine.
