Add myself to the list of mushrooms in the dark regarding delivery of their vehicle. Scheduled for 11th Nov - then pushed to 17th. I have spoken to both the dealer and Ford - Ford have confirmed the delivery block but cannot say where the cars will be stored, for how long etc. A Q1 2025 delivery is likely according to the dealer given Xmas coming up etc - if so, it voids my contract and I will likely look to get a MY2025 vehicle instead. I’m not keen on my current vehicle sitting out in the Australian summer, next to the ocean for several months before delivery is resolved. I’ve read that the paint quality is variable at best already, so who knows what state it will be in if delivered after several months.

I understand issues happen, what I cannot tolerate is the abysmal communication from Ford, the broken promises (someone will phone you, email you blah blah) and the lack of care.
Having waited for 3 years to get a 2024 car delivered, I personally would take the 2024 when they release it rather than going back into the queue for a 25...Who knows how long it will take before they hit our shores. Even if the dealers say Q12025 for a MY25, I've learnt this date can change many many times.

This is what it looks like when you get the blank screen of death. Car is running when I took the photo. Powered off the car waited for screen on left to close, power back on nothing, waiting for everything to cooldown atm 30 degrees atm, see what happens.

I can happily report it comes back, but it was kind of cool and scary at the same time to drive with no speed indication, I was only 2 minutes around the corner from my house at the wife's parents place, if you're an IT guy you will know you get called to fix IT related stuff in the family all the time sigh.

I am a little confused with this recall. Can I ask XRS and any that have had their cars delivered that are affected by the recall, have you received your notice from ford and what is the fix? Seems some articles are saying ford are fixing the issue free of charge but is this software update available currently?
I have a carbonised grey GT in the showroom with many other cars ready for delivery but dealership still has no information. USA cars seem to be getting update currently.

As mentioned in previous posts
1. We have received notifications on this forum of a recall notice on our Mustangs on the Ford Pass App.
2. Others have been refused delivery of their vehicles until the issue has been resolved 😔.
3. Ford will not provide any detailed information or a resolution at this point.😭.
4. 5.0ALM's explanation is about the closest we will get on what the issue might be. The power of this forum right there so we are not totally in the dark.
Now that I have evidence of the issue, I have sent the photo to my dealer and asked for more information, this I hope will not get my car impounded as they will not release cars to customers with the issue, they may want to remove the car from the road to avoid litigation. I suppose if you get pulled over and the police ask you how fast you were going you can legally say I don't know my instrument panel is broken by Ford.

Same boat here, went to buy a 2024 Mustang GT Premium and was told nothing about a recall, I even test-drove it on public highways only for them to "discover" it's under recall after I walked out of finance. They won't give me any info other than the standard Ford Q1 2025 response and FoMoCo representatives were super disrespectful on my call to them so it doesn't seem they're very keen to talk about it. I hope something comes out soon.

I asked my Dealer what the process is and he was going to get back to me... that was 3 weeks ago and I've heard nothing.

Ditto.
The information must not be tricking down yet from the US > Melbourne > Dealers.

I received a call from the service department of Gerald Slaven Ford. He confirmed that any vehicle that has the recall and has not been delivered are being held back in Australia. Due to this all the dealers are pushing very hard for a resolution. The resolution will be a software update to the car, if you have your car like me you will have to bring it into the service department to get a software update, there is no ETA. The issue - the speedometer display will go blank and stay permanently blank, I assume it will only come back after the software update. This is not what I experienced but I was not going to argue that point with him. On a side note, my lane keeping assist freaks out when I get to a certain point on the road out from my home to work, there is a large metal crash barrier to the left, so it reminds me to turn the stupid thing of every time. I asked the service department about turning it off and they said no its a safety feature, in my head "Safety Feature My Arse". Other than that, the car is awesome to drive, I am just starting to use sport mode more, which peps the throttle up nicely.

Just had a read of this article which has got some more info

https://www.carexpert.com.au/car-ne...-forced-to-wait-even-longer-due-to-recall-fix

Still think it's extreme considering "240 of these vehicles have been delivered to customers", so these cars are driving around while we hope our cars are stored inside but not guaranteed to be.

“Wherever possible, Ford will utilise enclosed storage facilities (i.e. indoor warehouse and outdoor with hail nets)"

And to top it they reckon “Ford has a thorough preservation process for units in storage, including batteries being checked, and tyres being rotated every 30 days."

Highly doubt this will happen lol

And now we wait

Ok, I really dont have words at the moment. My car is at the dealer, but I cant have it. The dealer doesnt have any clear answers yet so I reached out to Ford Australia via Facebook. Their message:
Thanks for reaching out to us. We can confirm that there is a recall on the 2024 Mustangs relating to the IPC Screen. This recall has temporarily halted the Mustang deliveries. Our dedicated teams are actively working to resolve this matter and anticipate providing the Dealership network with repair instructions in the first quarter of 2025. We understand the inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience while we work through this. Please keep in touch with your Dealer, and they will be updated on any developments. We apologise for the disappointment this has caused. Kind Regards, Shanez @ Ford Australia

This means I wont be getting my car this year. Now excuse me while I go stick my head under a pillow to scream out my frustrations....
Hi all,

I’m also in the same boat. I’ve reached out to Ford Australia and demanded compensation for the delay as why is it fair that we should receive a 2024 car in 2025. Ford has stated that there will be no compensation for this delay, however, if enough of us write letters of complaint for this delay then they may capitulate and offer us something. A contact at a Ford dealership told me that Ford did offer compensation for the Bronco and Transit.

I have also pointed out that the US has solved this problem and implemented the fix from 11/11/24. This was agreed by Ford Australia, but when I pointed out that it is ridiculous that a software issue could take 4 months to solve when the solution is in place in other countries there was no answer forthcoming.

I would recommend that everyone affected by this issue bombard Ford Australia with email and phone call complaints as there appears to be no urgency to resolve this recall in Australia.

Good luck and hopefully this will be sorted soon.

Quiet.

If Ford has a fix in the US, they haven't told the dealers. The 2024 GT that I tried to buy in the United States is still sitting on the lot awaiting a fix and we still have the Q1 2025 projection from Ford. I've received very little to no information at all other than to wait from both my dealer and FoMoCo. Do you have any information about the fix in the US?

Hello AJ,

my understanding is that, from speaking with Ford Australia, is that recall letters were sent to all US owners (who had already taken delivery) between 11/11 and 15/11 requesting that owners bring in their vehicles to be fixed.

Not sure what your circumstances are but this was what I was told.

I'm in Canada. My Ford dealership keeps me updated every few days. I spoke with my guy yesterday, and he said he reached out to his manager, and he said that the fix should be fixed by next week. At least, that is what they are hoping for. I'm not sure If I believe them as they said previously an update would be ready by the end of the month, and the end of the month has approached and nothin yet.

I hope an update comes out next week but if not it is what it is. :( I was supposed to get my car on the 8th and it's still sitting in the outside lot collecting dust. I see if sometimes driving by lol
