Ok, I really dont have words at the moment. My car is at the dealer, but I cant have it. The dealer doesnt have any clear answers yet so I reached out to Ford Australia via Facebook. Their message:
Thanks for reaching out to us. We can confirm that there is a recall on the 2024 Mustangs relating to the IPC Screen. This recall has temporarily halted the Mustang deliveries. Our dedicated teams are actively working to resolve this matter and anticipate providing the Dealership network with repair instructions in the first quarter of 2025. We understand the inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience while we work through this. Please keep in touch with your Dealer, and they will be updated on any developments. We apologise for the disappointment this has caused. Kind Regards, Shanez @ Ford Australia

This means I wont be getting my car this year. Now excuse me while I go stick my head under a pillow to scream out my frustrations....

And all along, those of us lucky to have our cars already can keep on driving.

If it's ok to drive these cars, then it seems ridiculous not to release the latest arrivals.

does the vehicle have the recall open for your vin!?

shitty if it doesn’t. Honda atm have a similar issue with a recall, but if the vehicle extends outside of the vin range, give the customer there car.

Yeah if I plug my VIN into Ford's tool, it lists the recall so I'm very much caught up in this.

Bfets to say that sucks, is an massive understatement. I hope ford square this recall for you quickly.

Thanks mate - Yeah I'm sure I'm not the only one. Many unfortunate customers having to wait even longer now. Super frustrating.

Asking selfishly, but do you think they're going to hold ALL deliveries, or just those affected by the recall? Surely it's just the latter but this is Ford we're talking about.

Feel sorry for you.
I am so lucky. My car was built on 03/05/24 just one week before the recall date.
Checked VIN and came up ok

With my experience working in dealer land, they shouldn't hold all vehicles. As there is no safety requirement's to complete on vehicle outside of the effected vin/build range at this time.

Pd, fit accessories, detail and hand over.

Yeah I cant see them holding ALL vehicles. If you punch your VIN into that tool and it doesn't show the recall, you should be good to get your car.

I've just spoken to my dealer again and he has confirmed the same now. They cant give me the car and the current ETA on the fix is early next year. It sucks, but it is what it is.
For now they will be putting the car in a corner at the back of their showroom and putting stanchion posts and rope around it to prevent people from getting in the car or toughing it. It does mean they will need to wash the car as opposed to my previous instructions which was to leave it alone and let my detailing company give it its first wash when they put PPF on it. Its a halo car so they have no issues keeping it in the showroom. In fact I think this worked out really well for them .

Thanks bfets, I checked the tool and my car doesn't show up - makes sense as my build date was outside the window.

I feel bad for those affected, just adds an additional sour taste on top of an excruciating wait.

2024.5 S650 GT Manual in Vapor Blue,
Well mine too is probably at the dealers by now and yes it is on the recall list!
It is ridiculous to think that we will need to wait another couple of months to get this fixed.
I have special plates ordered that will now have to go into storage at more expense if the car is delayed.
I rang the dealer & the Sales manager has said that he will call me next week when he's talked to the ford rep. He thinks it crazy that it should take that long to sort this issue out.
As I am writing this I get a call from the dealer pre delivery lady offering window tint, ceramic coating etc. I had to laugh otherwise I would have cried! 🙄

Hey Deano, How did you manage to get the Black Pack with that late a build date?
When did you order yours?

Sorry this has happened to you as well @Brumby5.0 . At least we're not alone and in it together. Please keep us posted on any news and I'll do the same. I assume there will be heaps of customers in this boat now.

Awww man that really sucks, still waiting to hear if mine will get affected as well. I might just be out of the recall window by a week. Does your VIN show a recall notice on the website?
