Two different dealers replace tensioner pulley, idler pulley, both belts and a water pump. No fix….

as soon as you idle down, the noise seems to go away. Is it transient; that is, only audible on warm up?

It’s only on cold start, starts when it idles down from 1000 to 750rpm. The chirp only lasts about 30 seconds

I’m not sure what it is precisely, but I’d bet it’s something related to the cold start strategy. Injectors maybe? that is just a WAG, but a lot of modern motors are noisy and it can be difficult to hear on the Coyote in the Mustang because normal start up is LOUD by modern standards.

The 3.5TT disabused me of being concerned about lots of ‘unusual’ noises. It’s been making weird noises for 7 years now.

@Petes24Gt ..... my 2024 GT (4500 miles) not driven rough makes exactly the same noise, maybe even a bit louder. Has since purchase and like yours quiets down. I believe it's just a normal cold start engine noise.

Why are you popping the hood to listen to cold starts?

There is an insulation lining attached to the underside of the hood for NVH reduction.

Try closing the hood, the doors and the windows before you start the car (as intended)
And report back.

Remove both belts and test without them driving any pulleys. Does the noise go away?
If there is no noise without both belts, the issue Is in the belts and pulleys system. Install one belt and test again. Is the noise coming back? Replace each pulley not yet replaced on that subsystem.

If you get the original noise without belts installed look at the engine and leave the belt/pulley system alone.

Because Ford goes to great lengths to reduce NVH on these cars.

So I found it odd that an operator would go out of their way to listen/look for it.

Anyways 100% normal and to be expected startup sounds from a combustion engine.
Enjoy 😉 👍

Since it appears to be a cold startup issue, maybe you can open the hood, remote start the car and try to isolate an area where the noise is coming from before it idle’s down. Maybe can use an automotive stethoscope to narrow down the noise. It might take a few tries to locate the source .

just rub some hand soap against the belt if noise goes away it's the belt. On my grand Cherokee I put like three belts on until I used a gator belt then it went away.
