My passenger wiper arm needs to be clocked about one spline to the left. It is sitting too high on the windshield. Not by much….i think rotating it CCLW one spline should do it. It has a rubber cap that covers the 16mm nut. When I remove the nut it won’t come off. It might be pressed onto a tapered shaft. Before I use a puller, has anyone removed their wiper arm?

Is it worth it to move it one spline?
It’s actually interfering with lifting the driver side wiper up when washing the windshield. I can jog the wiper a bit to get around it but most importantly….it’s covering the pony Easter egg on the passenger side. 😂

You might consider consulting with your dealer's service department. They may have already pulled one or two, and be able to provide some insight. Good luck!

Not on the Mustang... but yes, they are usually a tapered shaft. A small puller may be required... service manual says use a 2 leg puller.

I had to remove both wiper arms when I installed my FP/Whipple SC. I purchased the puller below from Amazon. It did the job, however fitment wasn't the best. Keeping the puller arms under both sides of the wiper arm post is tricky- You have to maintain puller arm alignment on wiper post and adjust the puller at the same time. Having three hands would help. Again, this puller did the job. If I had to do this again I might order a lighter duty, less bulky puller that would also be cheaper.

All the above aside a wiper arm puller is a requirement. Extra caution is needed to avoid marring the wiper arm post during removal. Not an issue when reinstalling.

buy the puller from autozone. Done in 2 minutes. Or dont buy the puller and bend the shit out of the arm, lots of swearing and probably pry at it with a flat blade and ruin the plastic and scratch the arm and end up buying a replacement from ford for $90 because you're and idiot and didnt buy the 3 dollar puller from autozone. Wife will laugh at you and you will be pissed for over a year.

Like others advised, buy a puller. Put a towel under the wiper so if you slip you don't scratch anything. I would tighten the puller until you feel the arm pop from the shaft. Do not fully remove the arm, but gently clock it to the next spline , or wherever you want it, press down gently, tighten the nut and check. Best wishes for a successful repair!

Uh oh... hope that's not from firsthand experience?

Are you quoting the GEN7 service manual? I am trying to use a 2 leg puller and it isn’t budging. I’m gonna soak it with penetrating oil overnight to see if that helps. I’m afraid to really torque on the T handle thinking it should come off fairly easy. I dunno.
