I have used the rain sensing wiper mode since I got the car, just had to have the windshield replaced by dealer and now every time I move the transmission into gear wiper wipes when it moves through reverse. Is there a way to turn that off without having to turn the rain sensing mode off every time?

I’m not sure the windshield and wiper function are related, i would most likely suspect a software update for change in behavior. Although a single courtesy wipe on the way to drive could be considered a handy little reminder since we don’t have a ‘wiper active’ icon / light on the dash.

I see how that could be helpful, but is a little annoying when the windshield is dry. I was just curious if anybody else noticed it on their cars really.

clean the windshield where the rain sensor is see if that helps
there was actually a video on this a few weeks ago will link

if cleaning dont work maybe ford needed to calibrate it like with the other cameras for collision warning when replacing the windshield
