Car sways back and forth during startup

First video at startup on a level surface, vehicle in Park, without the brakes applied, it rocks back and forth as soon as the engine turns. Been doing this since day 1.

Second video this time in Neutral without the brakes applied, the car rocks about 6 seconds after startup. A10, no strange noises, no lights or codes and the car runs great

I have the A10 and I don’t think I’ve ever used the little electric brake. I just leave it in Park and no it never moves on startup, it just sits there. I don’t appear to have any of the issues other folks here do.

My Dark Horse does this. I just attributed it to tight clutches in the transmission before the pump gets fluid to them. I don't see it as a safety issue so haven't bothered with trying to talk to the dealer about it.

Any information on this ?? Im very curious on what this could be. I think i noticed one of the cars I owned did something like this or close to this. Maybe it's from the force of the engine starting and it's on level ground ?? Causes a sway like it would at drag strip left to right or whatever so it moves the car ever so slightly?? Dunno just a guess

I took it to the dealer back then, had them check the transmission, they said it was normal.

Maybe on startup the force of a cold start could cause it to rock...though

Second video, car in Neutral without the brakes applied, level garage, it sways about 5 seconds after startup. That's where I called bullshit, does not seem normal.

Anyhow, since I despise dealer service centers, said fuck it and went about my way. Over 6000 miles since, I drive it hard, change the oil and enjoy the car. Drive it till it breaks and let the warranty take over. Around the 3yr/36K mark will probably be trade up to a new DH or C8

Mine would never do that! I learned many years ago to always set the parking bake, and never use "Park" by itself.

No, don't have the problem. I do use the electric parking brake on level or not level ground, always. Otherwise, the pawl in the transmission is holding the car in place. Over time, this could break or crack the pawl. I just use the brake and I recently read an article that said to use the brake. I do anyway. Recommend the OP take it to a dealer for, maybe, peace of mind.

I have lived in the so-called rust belt! The reasoning behind not using a parking brake, good or bad, deals with the idea brake pads rust onto the drums or discs as the case may be. Yes, when that happens, it is a nuisance, but when your car decides to end up rolling away crashing, you'll understand why!

It's not just about the pads and shoes rusting to the braking surface, it's about things like the brake cable rusting / being wedged, making it not release. And, in super cold temps, water in items can freeze making it stick too.

I had a 22 GT do this but MUCH more dramatic. Never bothered to take it in
