We need to pool up some money for someone who's got a job 2, have them pay the $165.00 to figure out the magic elixir, and then spread it far and wide on this site. I'm scared we're gonna push roket and grabthatblue to an early grave, haha
@A.alansari is willing to do that. He lives "not that far" from Saudi Arabia and can drive there. We can split the costs if we all want. I don't need the amber but I'm willing to split the costs, just for this whole journey we did.

also, i figured out why he charges what he does for his services. a 2 day license to FDRS is $50. 30 day is $200. 365 day is $900. you also need a specific adapter, and if you want to buy the dealer stuff (VCM 3), thats another $1800. Bosch also makes one that is $2000. FDRS does actual module programming but cannot modify as-built data. however, being a dealer level tool, the stuff it can do is completely unmatched; basically anything you could want to do from module programming, to a myriad of service procedures. its incredibly powerful. one of the only things you will not be able to do is key programming. even within a dealer, only specific people are authorized to do PATS programming

I'm waiting on him to let me know how much it will cost to change my job 1 modules and enable the amber DRL but still no answer I'm trying to get the module name at least or the part number so might narrow it down to what we need to make it work

if the price is not stupid high I will backup all modules in forscan before traveling to the guy and do it then it will be just a matter of comparing the before and after from the backup

and I asked him to see if he can update my screen since here we don't receive ota updates and if he says no then most likely he only uses forscan

for those wondering, you can do this even if you have a 2024 job 1. with FORScan, go into your APIM and change these values:
7D0-03-01xxxx**xxxx--
change the value that is in ** to 2D. this gives you the splash screen of the GTD

7D0-03-02**xxxxxxxx--
change the value that is in ** to 3E. this gives you the GTD in the My Mustang menu. it also changes some things in the auxiliary gauges; changing the boost icon to a supercharger, increasing the oil pressure domain to 175psi, giving you an actual oil temp reading, and changing some wording, like "transmission oil temp" to "transaxle oil temp". for some reason, it takes a bit for the trans oil and engine oil temp to be picked up and display; both of which are accurate when they do, though. there are also no graphics for the classic, foxbody, and SVT cobra gauges. interestingly, Ford apparently has no intention of telling GTD owners their intercooler coolant temp or charge air temp, even though the APIM and IPC have the data to support turning those on. also, it looks like the GTD will also lack the ability to truly and completely tune your custom mode

you cannot do the dash itself, you will likely need to program the IPC with the GTD's software to get it to work.

also, while doing research for this, i found out that the base price for a GTD is $318,760, and all of them come with a $3,700 Gas Guzzler "option", raising the base price with no options to $327,960.00
Hey. I just did this. And yeah. Noticed the screen in front of the driver doesn’t update like you said. The center screen does, but so far for me only when I shit the car off. When I put it into accessory it’s going straight to like welcome, and the Apple CarPlay screen and such. Maybe because I need to start the car. But i don’t know. Worked though

Maybe try to reboot the APIM module. I had something similar first. Everything worked except for the GTD spinning car. After a reboot everything worked fine.

Yeah if he uses something other than Forscan I understand.

@roket, can the modules be updated to later version via FDRS? or is a hardware change still required? I have everything to run FDRS... just need to pay for a few day subscription.

I too have job 1, but I will also chip in to see this happen.

the job 2s and later have a different LDCM software version. i was going to look to see what software version the GTD that has actually been produced has, but i think either Ford's system to see software versions is down or they have somehow blocked me. in any case, i am currently sifting though the GTD as-built to see what differences there are and find any possible changes. i saw no changes in either LDCM

How are you doing this? The GTD hasn’t even been released for civilian use. How can you look it up? I assume via the dealer?

I already checked all differences. I will share this when I get home in a few minutes.
