@IFFV68 ..... exactly and IMO there is nothing wrong with speed or spending money on it.

I noticed you like to use this sentence a lot.
Yes I do.
I also use’
It Shines Like a Diamond in a Goats 🐐 Ass.
When I was in High School, too many years ago.
There was a High Performance parts shop & they had a Sign that said,
Speed Costs etc.
I thought it was pretty cool & it made Sense.
Back in the 60’s.
Still true today.

It would benefit RamAir to update their web site, instructions, blog and support areas.

RamAir appears to be a UK company, with a US distributor. They sell two broad types of filters: those made of foam and others made of pleated "nanofiber".

The oil referenced is to support the foam filter media.

I cannot find as to if the pleated filters require oiling. The filter itself has no markings. Other companies' filters are often stamped, "Do not oil.". RamAir's UK site has not updated their blog page in three years. They do not have a support section. Company-sponsored maintenance schedule, general care and cleaning instructions would be welcome.

All this $$$ we spend on filters CAI stuff. I bet stock works just as good if not better than all these gimmicks.
CAI threads have remained a time capsule for the last 20 years, they're always identical, hahah. VWvortex used to have a new thread in the same vein every other week, and it *always* devolved into bickering.

The answer is same 9 times out of 10. Leave it stock unless you're tuning the car.

To be fair, there are genuine gains to be seen on 90's cars depending on runner length, spout diam, etc, but with modern cars being so incredibly precise and highly monitored by multiple computers at once, I doubt it makes a difference, especially without any other supporting mods.

Ugh all this talk about filters, oiling them, letting them be dry...

The only filter I truly care about:

I'm the oldest guy here me thinks? When I went to high school, the phrase was... If it don't go, chrome it! This too applies to this very day!

If your looking for an air filter for your S650 and haven't found the right ones check these out. Purchased a set very easy to install as there shorter then the factory and other aftermarket ones.

@D/\rKHrs€ ..... if they are more efficient (air flow) then slightly smaller shouldn't be an issue. I believe the afe and Roush dry filters are the same size. as Ford oem. I have purchased the Roush "Air Intake System" - clear topped air box covers and dry filters + 2 extra dry filters. They should arrive within a few days. I'll measure and post when I unpack them.
