Those that have it know what it sounds like. When I put mine in Track Mode, it is a very little bit louder but it drives a little "crisper" for lack of a better description. The car seems to have a little more spunk. In Sport mode, the butterfly valve in both exhausts is wide open same as they are in Track Mode.

Question: Is there different transmission or engine programming going on when AE is in Track Mode? There's a noticeable driving change in my car.

I stated that exact thought a few weeks back. I thought throttle response was much more instant with just setting the exhaust to Track Mode. Others tried a comparison and didn’t experience what I thought I was going on.

So, some think it makes no difference, but I thought it did more than just be louder. As far as I understand, opening to Track Exhaust is what brings stock hp from 480 to the claimed 486 hp.

I had a theory that setting to Track Mode also maybe advances timing or adjusts the throttle mapping, because from a stop, it seemed to have more response. These are just theories and I can’t verify in any way.

Well, I guess we are the two in the world that notice a difference so it must not be theory. It's more than the butterfly valve because they're wide open in Sport mode as well as in Track mode. I notice a driving difference not only from a stop but just driving in general.

Where were you when I was getting my ass handed to me asking the same question 3 weeks ago…LMAO. 🤣
Well, not everyone's car performs as well as yours and mine with AE in Track, apparently. Nobody here can hurt us.......👍 It has to do with gravity differences in your locale, mine, and the rest of the world's.......

Just for clarification, I'm only talking about Active Exhaust settings, not driving mode for which the differences are very discernable. Just a little difference, but a difference in AE setting from Sport to Track.

According to this video, the max DB's on rev in Normal mode was 100.3, while Sport gave 104.8, and Track was 105,8. So relatively small difference between Sport and Track, but still a difference!

Try adding hearing protection and then retry, attempt to replicate the feeling without the influence of the sound?

I would note that +3dB is a doubling of the sound energy.
Good point! It's not a linear scale at all. Exponential, I believe. So yes a 3DB variance is significant. Put it this way, a jet airplane at takeoff is about 120 to 140db. A 22 pistol is about 130db. Prolonged exposure to noises over 90db risk permanent hearing loss. At 140db even a single exposure could cause permanent hearing loss/damage. Hence why we have noise ordinances about airplanes and yes, cars.

I'm sure louder exhaust makes it feel sportier, but I wouldn't trust that it actually is. Vacuum cleaners are designed to be noisy because people perceive that as being more powerful.
