I hear you, and can’t argue with that...and that makes 100% sense. But it’s such a small increment over Sport Exhaust to have such a dramatic difference in pedal response.

In all honesty, how do we know for sure that selecting that digital option doesn’t do more than just move a flap in the muffler? Who knows what else pushing that ”button” does? Just a thought. Not like it’s anything Ford would confirm.

Lol… Switch from Track exhaust to Sport and report back if you can.

I guess the secondary factor to judge now ….is if moving the muffler flap wide open alone has that much effect on pedal response. I hate to be a stubborn PIA on this, so other opinions are welcome.

So far Ryan thinks I’m nuts…lol. 🙃
This will be interesting to test when I get mine on Saturday.

part of me is confused- completely open might be louder and more HP (slightly), but my experience tells me open exhaust = less back pressure = potentially less throttle response down low but more high end speed.

First ever Mustang though so I can’t say I know really anything about the platform.

Are you talking about just the exhaust setting or actually switching from sport to track mode? Track relaxes traction control so you get wheel spin and faster revs vs brakes engaging and power being reduced.

He's talking about just the exhaust setting. I personally do not feel the difference in response that he describes. I think he's got the Mustang glasses are on and he's just enjoying the placebo of track exhaust too much. 😉

I am talking ONLY about the EXHAUST SETTINGS. NO OTHER factor.

As far as Drive modes, I am driving in NORMAL MODE and ONLY CHANGING EXHAUST MODES.

If I’m beating a dead horse, let me know, that’s cool, but hey, it’s an active exhaust thread…what else is there to say about it…lol. I’m just sharing an observation and looking for some confirmation from others who might take the time to notice throttle response difference.

I’ll sum it up….

The Experiment:

Switch ONLY your EXHAUST MODE from Sport to Track and see if throttle response is noticeably more immediate from a stop.…more than you’d think opening a muffler flap an extra 1/2” would accomplish.

Excuse the caps, but I am trying to be clear exactly what I am talking about in my posts, so we are all on the same page here.

Dude. We know what you mean. You've said it four times. Take the caps lock off and breathe son. The horse is dead.

That’s cool, you’re providing feedback. It doesn’t have to agree with what I am observing. If anything, I’d like to see if enough people say I’m imagining it or not….lol.

But on any other exhaust mode, when I take off at a gentle acceleration from a stop, there’s a hesitation or lag in the 3 lesser exhaust modes. I have read other posts here complaining about the lag….so that part is somewhat documented here. I just don’t feel the lag in Track Exhaust.

….well so far, it’s 1-1 on observed difference in acceleration.
Me-yes,
Ryan-No

I’m keeping my Mustang goggles on a little bit longer. :sunglasses:

I had already told him. See post 200.
Ah, I see you did. I missed that. You’re right, I’m repeating myself like a mental patient. Message boards are bad for my OCD sometimes. I’m going to put the ipad down, and just wind the hell down with a book. Hard to believe I’m friggin 61 and not 12 sometimes.

You have a good evening AZ_Ryan. It’s all good. 🙂

Back pressure is bad, and not something you want.

Scavenging, on the other hand, is good.
Not always, completely possible to overdo either and even both if done incorrectly.

Are we hinting / checking to see if exhaust mode modifies the tune and drive mode modifies the suspension?
