Hello everyone I am new here
I am having a knock noise almost every time I fire up the engine and I am really worried about it
Some people are having the same issue with same model 2024 gt 10 spd
I haven’t found what is wrong with it or even if its normal or not please advise me

@S650 lover ..... The sound you hear may be mild piston slap. This can occur for for up to 20 minutes with the 2024 GT engine. Mine does this and will do so for about 20 minutes - even when it is at normal operating temperature. It will go away after that. My friends/family and I used to build and dyno engines but I wanted second opinions. The friends and family thought it was harmless piston slap possibly associated with the plasma coatings in the cylinders of our 2024 GTs and their 12:1 compression. I took it to a Ford dealer that specializes in the super high end Mustangs and got the same answer. Being ocd I called Ford and got the same answer. My opinion is to thoroughly warm up your GT's engine (which I do with all my vehicles) before I give it some serious pedal. BTW I notice the "noise:" even more if I paddle shift and take the RPMs over 1500 before the engine is at normal operating temperature. I am convinced this "noise" is normal and will not affect your engine. To be sure you can take it to a Ford dealer....and if you are really worried (for peace of mind) have them open a work order to document your concern in case of future warranty concerns.

Could be this (11) Clunking noise from the transmission when slowing down! | Page 3 | Mustang7G - 2024+ S650 Mustang Forum (Dark Horse, GT, EcoBoost, GT500, GT350, Mach 1)

Sounds like normal trans pressure.
Sometimes there is still trans fluid lines/valves that had pressure built when you shut the car off.
nothing to worry about, nbd… 10r80 master race life 🤷

@Gregs24 ..... re-listened to the video at louder volume. You're right, that's not piston slap. I don't know why it's happening "almost" every time and not every time. It could be a low fluid level or air in a system that's making the noise erratic but that's just guessing on my part - I'd take it to Ford.

Ok as I saw a lot of people with the same model are having the same exact knock, a considerable number tbh. Do you think it is really ok and normal ?

Ty
Ford and the dealer aren’t responding with enough info. They said if it is happening with others with the same 2024 then it is ok. Thats why I am thinking what to do 😓😓

Thank you 🙏
The production of my s650 was on 11/2023
I don’t think it is the same with that thread because it happens only when i start the engine when its warm after a ride
The same is happening to me. The transmission knock happens only ofter I start the car when stopped for few minutes. But never happened if car parked for longer period (i.e. overnight)
