Obviously it’s how you drive. I don’t zoom, I don’t track, I keep to the speed limits, I just enjoy the car and yup… I’m getting almost the same 7.9litres/100kms (36.2 mpgUK) (30.1 mpgUS) on 87 octane.

UPDATE: Out today for a drive and my fuel economy went to 7.8.. Add the two bottom numbers together and that’s what I get on a tank. 720kms (447 miles)

I almost replied thinking you were driving a GT getting 30mpg on the regular. That would have been genuinely impressive to me.

Alas, you're driving a good ol' EcoBoost, which is more than capable of getting that level of MPG regularly. ☺

Nope, it’s a GT.
I scoured all the options and selected the base with 301A automatic and active exhaust. I didn’t order it I kept checking all the dealers around me constantly and one turned up exactly as I wanted in Oxford White. I zipped to the dealer and it was still in plastic wrap. I bought it on the spot.
I run it in Normal but Sport exhaust for lower back pressure and add K&N air filters for more air…. and the result is as posted.
I wanted this specific blend as it’s lighter than the other models which also helps fuel economy. (well until I put my fat ass in it)

That's way cool. Do you drive it every day? And how much city driving versus highway driving do you do?

Yes, I drive it every day. I live out in the country so most driving is on rural roads at lower speeds so that’s also why the better fuel economy.

My drives across Florida from east coast to west can net me around 26mpg, but there's a bit of city driving through Tampa/St. Pete area and some highway at 70+ mph. Driving on the country roads is north of 28mpg.

Normally I'm at around 22mpg with suburban and city driving. Idling kills mpg as all well know. I'd add that a larger fuel tank would be nice, say in the 18gal range vs. 16 that's been standard in the 6g and 7g; give the 'Stang a true "grand tourer" capacity.

That's impressive mileage for a GT. I have an Atlas Blue w/301A, AE but with 3.55 gears so my rpm's are a little higher than the stock 3.15's. I have't done a lot of highway but I did see 24 on a tank of mostly highway which is right what the sticker says. Maybe I can squeeze out a few more mpg's once it has some more miles on it but then again maybe not because of the 3.55's. Everyone told me get the 3.55's but honestly I'm not sure I would even notice the difference, lol.

Just returned from my first extended (7 hours each way) road trip, my GT 5.0L/A10 averaged over 26mpg with a fair amount of holiday traffic delays. It likely would have been closer to 29-30 without all of the stop & go. Top dropped, cruised beautifully, what a fantastic ride!
