We had to wait for the very to know the horsepower?

Not even 800?

hope she does a lot with that 795. Looking forward to strip/track times.

we've known the power for a fair while now. Ford has to keep the hierarchy in check, so they detuned the SC 20 hp, 4 lb-ft, and 100 rpm off the redline despite having the same engine. can't be having their $328k starting price halo car encroached upon by us normal people, right?
i guess Whipple is working on that, though, with their 3.8L supercharger. if the power output from that same unit on the GT500 and Raptor R are anything to go by, i estimate the Whipple 3.8L will bump power to 1100-1200 hp and 770-820 lb-ft

less concerned about Ford trying to not compete with the underpowered GTD and more looking at the competition, which has eclipsed the 815 number by orders of magnitude.

the engine isn’t (wasn’t) what made the Gtd special. The suspension was.

If you’re accurate about the 3.8, perhaps that’s what the Gtd competition uses to beat GM.

If they can get 1000+ hp on the 3.8 and hsvr it not void the warranty, that would be insane in a very good way. Still leaves the SC under 800 from the factory, but at least there would be stratospheric options.

i would honestly not be terribly surprised if Whipple and Ford teamed up to put a 3.8L on the Predator in the GTD. Ford and Whipple already work together in the Ford Peformance/Racing accessories, and the fact Whipple very very shortly after the SC's launch announced a kit does imply stuff has been happening behind closed doors a bit. but all that extra power is very possible due to the 3.8L's 43% larger displacement compared to the stock Eaton TVS2650's 2.65L displacement. the numbers were just kinda a guess on my part, though

People that do not understand convertibles will never understand convertibles. I bought a 2023 ZL1 Convertible and was asked why I bought a track car with no top. Same reason a lot of people lift and tire trucks and never off-road. Or why people put a SC on a GT and never race it.

Just because I can

Saw both this weekend in person and the DH/SC is absolutely striking. My friend has a 2020 GT500 and the lines on the new SC are so much more bold and powerful looking.

it makes prev gen Shelby look rounded everywhere, which is totally cool, just different
And that purple is again, quite striking
