YouTube is positively littered with BS stories about upcoming new cars. There are many for brands that were discontinued over a decade ago! Oh look, Oldsmobile is bringing back the Cutlass 442! Complete with 8 headlamps, like the American Queen Family Truckster in National Lampoon's Vacation.

I wonder if Saab is coming out with a new car? They are!

What about Pontiac? An all-new Firebird Trans Am! Yes!

I'm glad to see that Mercury is going to start building the Grand Marquis again.

You may have thought that DeSoto stopped making cars in 1961. Hold onto your hats, friends; they are back!

I cannot, however, find any evidence that Hupmobile is coming out with a groundbreaking new model.

It's very much so preying on vulnerable and gullible audiences, particularly demographics like baby boomers. It saddens me that the very demographic that taught us younger people to not believe everything we saw, are the very same people most likely to believe everything they see when it comes to AI slop.

My cousin has sent me clips of my boomer uncle watching the most ridiculous AI vids. Shit like "I hiked to the center of the earth, it took 27 days" or "Are farmers developing large honeycomb farms?" and the thumbnail of the vid will literally be someone sitting on a tractor cab placed on a levatating inverted cone going through a field. To which I responded with the "What the hell is even that?!" Meme.

A lot of the time it's annoying, but harmless. But I'm very concerned about malecous forms of AI like scams being used to take advantage of these people.
