Car making is a global industry with global supply chains that are well established. Short term political shenanigans will have little impact long term. Words are one thing, deeds another.
I want to believe so, but unless we do away with all these harmful tariffs and other trade policies, I don't believe the impact long term will be minimal. My optimism is broken these days.

Ahh for the US maybe there will be long term damage. It is sailing in the opposite direction to most of the world at the moment - only one of those directions will turn out to be right long term.

But for example Ford have been building engines at the Windsor plant since 1923, often with Canadian government support. I guarantee that they will not close it and move production anywhere else as a result of short term political games.

Yeah interesting how they figure out how to get what they need when it’s something they want.

Did any body noticed that the GT premium will not include the single dash panel housing any more unless you go with the higher trim level?
Correction -
You can up grade to the
Magnesium Framed Panoramic Curved Display
for a $1000 with the GT Premium package [use to be standard with the GT Premium package] or it will be included in the up grad trim option.

I noticed the 5-spoke carbon fiber wheels are no longer an option for the DH. Must not have gotten many orders for those. Although for $9K you'd think they'd be able to come up with a better design.

That Adriatic Blue is pretty attractive and I always did like Orange Fury, but Magenta's probably the way I'd go.

Optioned the way I'd order, a DH came out to around $81K and a GT around $73K, yikes. Feels like although these prices might be reasonable in today's economy, it would make people at least look to see what alternatives are out there that they might otherwise never have considered.

I just build a Dark Horse the way I would order and was 83K

2026 M4 is 84K
You can also pick up a nice C8 in that price range.......

Years ago the Mustang was the cheap option....

A Cobra in 1993 was around 19K while an M3 was 35K

Today- they are very nice cars......but I think Ford forgot who the customer is......the moved it a little too far upscale......

What I can't get over is they made the 1 piece screen, leather trimmed seats, aluminum pedals all optional on the 400A Premium. Pretty much have to go with the 401A now to get the Premium interior. All that came standard on my 25 GT Premium 400A. No way a premium should come with the separate 2 piece screen and active X seats. also the small rear wing that used to be standard is now optional , the 26 comes standard with wing delete.

Just check out how different the prices of everything are compared to 2018. It's called inflation. You get paid more now too (assuming you do the same job / hours etc)
Yep, but much like things like college tuition, Mustang prices have far outpaced inflation. Inflation brings it from $34K to about $43K... there's $30K more unaccounted for.

Great thread! I am super glad I ordered my 24 when the banks opened up, I put it up for sale but I need to keep it until Ford makes an absolute animal (and I don’t know that happens again) GTD excluded obv.

I definitely wouldn’t be shopping for a new mustang today, I’d either be looking used for a HCI C6Z06, or a nice coyote swap car.
Why? Everybody should have purchase few S650 back in '24

You need to be careful to compare like with like on the car spec.

Here in the UK the increase in price is pretty much entirely covered by inflation and tax changes, although we get a unique spec to the US which is pretty much your top spec all along.

I paid £42k in 2019 for my S550 which in UK inflation equates to £54k now. Our tax has gone up by £3k so £57k now. I paid £59k last year for my S650.

Mustang prices are ridiculous now. Ford wonders why sales are so slow, I price out an S650 similarly equipped as a new G87 M2 and its a stone throw away from an M2. Hence why I went with the M2.

The fact that you can option a GT Premium to more than the starting cost of a Corvette is ridiculous. I do not remember any other generation of Mustang where that was possible.
