This is the intellectual laziness I’m talking about by these aftermarket tuners. The work is already done. Ford did it. Do something better. Make a new car. Figure out how to take 500lbs out of the car, have McLaren make you a carbon mustang tub you bolt the rest of the car too, idk man start coming up with cool ideas and build it. Anything besides new sticker pack and a pre engineered 3.0l blower I can get for $9995
technically Whipple did it, just with Ford's approval, but i get your point. its hard to do much with how locked down the S650 still is, but some weight savings could definitely be done. rear seat deletes, passenger seat delete... but after that it becomes hard to get rid of much without getting a bunch of codes and general issues. Ford has the Mustang as a "Full Networked Vehicle" now

Now you’re just being silly. There are government regulations that prevent this from happening. This isn’t the 60’s anymore. They’re doing the best they can with the restrictions they have.

Your small mindedness is always going to hold you back. Dream bigger darling.

this is sweet but again done by FORD what are these aftermarket tuners even bothering with.
They are doing what the automaker and law allows them to do. If you want something more do it yourself. This is 2025, the dreams are history. As will be our ICE V8’s in the not to distant future. Time to be grateful for what we have and stop asking for what we already know to be impossible. That’s just the reality.

I don’t know why you’re mad at me, man I’m not the enemy. I’m just telling you they need to be more creative. Do something better? Start a new company build a new car. I don’t know like I said I don’t have all the answers, but with this thing it’s not it.

They can't really do anything crazy, though. The car would be too expensive.

500lbs is a bit of a pipe dream.

The GT350 was only a little heavier than a base Mustang GT, and the 350R was a little lighter:

Items removed include air conditioning, the stereo system, rear seats, trunk floorboard and carpet, backup camera and emergency tire sealer and inflator. Exhaust resonators also have been removed for weight savings with the benefit of creating a sharper exhaust tone.

Shelby GT350R is more than 130 pounds lighter than the Shelby GT350 Track Pack model, which has proven its durability in multiple 24-hour racetrack tests.

I’m not mad at you. Maybe I’m mad it’s not the ‘60’s anymore. We car enthusiasts just cannot do the things we used to. Pretty much everything is illegal and it’s only going to get worse. There is going to come a point where decals and paint will be the only thing the aftermarket will be able to do. That just suck. 😕👍

Tough crowd.

Can't we just celebrate the fact that:

A - There's still a V8 Mustang we can buy.
B - There are still aftermarket companies putting their own stamp on it.

As for adding lightness with a Carbon tub.........people aren't buying $10k carbon wheels for their Dark Horses, I really can't see anyone paying $50k for a carbon tub. Of course, you could always go to Watson Racing and buy a caged body in white and build a car up from that :)

if that was an option I’d pay $90k for a bone stock dark horse drivetrain 3200lb 6 speed car all day. Send it.

Nobody isn't celebrating that there's still a Mustang.

We're just saying these aftermarket companies want way too much money, for way too little. At least RTR isn't charging as much as Shelby American, though.

And even more so, people are upset that Ford isn't building the special models that people actually wanted (GT350, GT500), that weren't just simple add-ons to a GT. The Dark Horse isn't enough.
