I would like to replace the factory air box with a cold air kit. I think the K&N cold air kit would look good and improve overall performance. Has anyone installed the K&N cold air kit? Any other cold air kit suggestions? The images below are from K&N, not installed on my car.

If it's looks you're after, go ahead and get it. If it's performance you want, it's probably no better and even possibly worse than stock. Hundreds of Ford engineers spent countless manhours developing the intake system for the 4th Gen Coyote engine. I would bet that they know best.

remove the carbon trap filter things and call it a day.......unless of course you just want something that looks good.......I would also explore Roush and Steeda - some high quality stuff (if they make something)

I was not aware of the carbon trap filters until you mentioned them, thanks! I found a video that shows how to R&R the factory air filters and remove the carbon trap filters. I may go that direction afterall.

I like the Roush cold air kit with the see-through air cleaner lids. I don't think there is any performance gain at all with this kit. I don't care for the $549.00 price.

Leave it be...expecially with a K&N kit. Its actually a downgrade from the factory setup.

Save your money! Keep in mind if you ever want big bucks as a collector car...mods will kill you.
These cars are fast, another 20 or 30 horsepower won't do a thing for you.
Save your money for gasoline and go have an enjoyable ride in a car that will scare the hell out of you!!!

Save your money. A CAI kit won't gain you anything. The factory set-up is actually pretty good. If its looks you're after there are much better options than K&N. But its going to cost you.

Its not 2008 anymore. No CAI kit will give you those gains on an S650. People aren't even seeing that with a tune.

@60 years. Are these K&Ns oiled filters? If they were I wouldn't put them on if they were free. Many have opined that oiled filters flow decently for a couple of weeks then their performance drops off dramatically and if not maintained religiously then they are worse than OEM paper filters. IMO the absolutely best option on the market is the Roush Kit (see through tops) that have the AFE NON-OILED free flow filters. These are of amazing construction - I bought 4 for rotation. Easy to clean with some warm water and simple green. Can do this many times - just follow the instructions. IMO the comparison is not even close for performance the Roush smoke the K&N. Had K&N of a Corvette I had - hated them. Threw them in the garbage. Did someone say 20 HP HA Ha Ha Ha Ha RLMAO - if you get 2 HP (one per side ) that would be magic. Man snake oil is still alive today! HA Ha Ha!

I was tempted to do the same thing after I bought my new 2025 Mustang GT, which most of us did all the time with the previous Mustang models. This is when we had only one throttle body, not two as we do now.

Now having two throttle bodies and two air filter boxes, there's plenty of air getting into the engine. Yes, it looks cool to be able to see the air filters, but this will cost you power, especially during the hotter months. This is due to the engine heat is now being sucked into the intake manifold which will show up on your intake temperature gauge which equals less Hp.

The stock air filter boxes supply plenty of air flow and do a great job keeping the intake air temp down to the exterior air temperature.

As someone already said, these newer Mustangs engines are already running to their almost full capacity, beside from air boosting the engine.

All this being said, there is nothing wrong with going with the see-through airbox cover and using an aftermarket filter for looks.

Have fun and enjoy your ride,
Just saying -

I had a RoushCharged GT with the see through lids. I could see the leaves & pine straw as it accumulated. Good reminder to clean them.
