2024 Vert Back Glass Shattered

Cat parked at work, coworker tells me my back window is broken. Not too hot 70s. Completely spidered. Is this covered by the factory warranty? Anyone ever deal with this, from what I read the entire top has to be replaced. Any insight is appreciated.

Unless you can show it was a defect (materials, installation or recall), difficult to see this being a warranty item.

I've seen some videos on-line of people replacing the window without replacing the top. But, IDK if that is an accepted practice or not. I realize it's expensive, but I'd rather pay to have things done correctly.

You can start at the dealer. Many operate their own collision centers. Discuss, get quote, set aside. Then go to a local body shop and get same. For both, you can ask about replacing the glass only. Those conversations could give you a feel for what's the right way to repair and what isn't.

The micro meteor/ mystery window shatter... I had one of those in my driveway years ago... no clear reason but I suspected the neighbor with a weed eater... especially a month later when I witnessed he and his weed eater shatter my sliding patio doors.

Going to be an insurance claim... unless anything obvious makes it look like bad glass or something

Thanks guys, it happened while parked at work. No mowing going on. I did not locate any objects or remnants of an object that could have caused it. I could see extreme heat or cold but it's was in the 70s here. Never had it happen but definitely seems odd with how much it spidered. Definitely going to try warranty route first because everything points to defect. I definitely want it done right and no risk of leaking. Figured this will be more than a glass claim.

Side note I also have paint peeling on both my side mirrors. I'm thinking my car was built on a Friday.
