The steering in the 350 and 500 might as well be from a different car. I would legitimately put $1000 down on a bet that someone blindfolded and ear plugged would not be able to guess that they are even remotely the same chassis based on steering alone. Had both a GT PP and GT350.
That’s fair, I get why people would like it. As a whole it just oozes peak mid-2000s to me… in the no-man’s land between traditional versus modern styling kind of way.
I feel like the mid 2000s was the puberty of car design though (but with several diamonds in the rough).
Good catch, strange. I bet it’s still the satin plastic. Maybe the details got crushed when trying to correct it in post. It tends to blend in with Blue Ember in certain lighting, like below:
I get that they’re trying to create the ninja mask effect—framing the grille and headlights inside a...
I’m staying out of this discussion but just want to say it’s still one of my favorite design sketches of all time
What kills me is that one of the GT350 exists in the same style, so I’m assuming same artist. I just can’t find it online. There was one in a gallery owner’s booklet I had and lost...
For sure, and they did it without making it look like another super-throwback retro thing. Really good mix of sporty proportions with muscular styling.
Also remember that first year pricing is always aggressive and that it’s standard practice to see a few regular year-over-year pricing increases in response to sales and to bring in line with inflation. That’s fairly standard practice.
Jesus Christ I hope not. My loaded GT350 was just under $65k in 2020.
Would be very balsy… er, bold of them to charge $70k for a new nameplate without a truly bespoke engine imo.
It’s definitely not ugly, I guess I’m just sour that it doesn’t tickle my loins the way a halo Mustang should. Stance is right, just the details crossing me.
At first I thought the eyeshadow little plastic things are what bothered me, but it’s really the way they treated the lower valance...
They definitely wanted to emphasize a wide DRG with the DTLs this time, as opposed to bringing the focal point to the center when you glance at it from a distance.
They paid fair enough homage to the 65+ gills with the S550. Agree it’s time to move on. With that said I think it’s valid to wish...
Call me cynical, but I think half the reason it looks good here is because it’s underexposed and hiding what they did to that front bumper
Taking my cynic’s cap off and it does look utterly menacing here though. Good silhouette
