People will find it ridiculous but it is true. A lot of normal people donāt realize the Mustang is still around. For example, couple of co-workers were talking about the Mustang and kept saying how they hate that itās turned into a SUV and the coupe is gone. Lol
Thatās kinda the price of naming...
Yeah in that video I thought his take on affordable performance sedan was interesting. Makes me wonder if heās backtracking on some of the previous rumors of the Mach 4 and has enough confidence in beating China to the punch stateside with something new.
I agree. Started off shaky with the shortages, when production picked up they sat on lots, but then incentives helped propel sales last year. Now itās just slowly going back down with Ford taking things away like the frunk I read.
From what Farley said in an interview, the new EV platform could...
Thought this interview is interesting and gave a lot of hints on future stuff. Seems like Farley is thinking of a performance sedan EV, and the off road supercar he wants is looking more like the T1+
I still think itāll be inspired by the T1+
It is a 2 door, 2 seater, front mid engined car I believeā¦. which is still a recipe for an off road āsuperā car. Itās also just a tube frame rally car, so maybe creating some unibody version isnāt out of the realm of possibility.
But a RS200 would be...
I mean Iād take a GTD over the 911 if I had the scratch. Although people hate itās a hopped up Mustang (some parts of that I understand) at least the service shouldnāt be too crazy.
For sound they just need to embrace that rally car, anti-lag, turbo noise. It lends to the DNA/character of that type of car anyways.
That was something Ken Block kinda helped Ford capture with the Focus RS.
I like this idea. It actually makes sense with the whole ātake on Porscheā idea but at an affordable level. Make the escort basically a import fighter. Maybe add AWD.
Someone said Vaughn is like the modern Carroll which is ridiculousā¦. Then realized he essentially created a RWB for Mustangs!!!! Lol. Take away the fact he doesnāt put on the kits himself.
One of those situations where you know the companies wonāt lend out their car for testing and owners wouldnāt either. The idea of spending that kind of money on their car and it didnāt perform would hurt.
Most of the issues I see people having with him has to do with the contradictions. He pushed the performance yes, but always follows up with some weird statement..
I kinda get it though, a lot of soldiers used to buy the same sidearms they were issued with in the military as an example (almost guilty of that with the sigs but dodged that bullet š¬)
Just creatures of habit I guess.
Thatās a completely different segment though and situation. A SUV only being a coupe in todayās market with a whole bunch of 4 doors is like tying your arms behind your back sales wise.
That analogy would work if say the Focus was a 3 door hatch and you make it have a 5 door option when small...
Thatās interesting, why donāt you think so?
If itās the only sedan in their lineup it should do alright. (kinda why I think it would be a great opportunity to use a new name)
My fear with how things have been ran would be them thinking it still LOOKS like a Mustang so letās just replace it...
