Yup and some people give him a pass because he races old cars and things.
I used to think he was alright and coming from the Toyota world I felt like he would be awesome with Ford (he use to pull up in Fords while working with Toyota).
but I get the vibe heās chasing his own interests and...
Your breakdown is spot on bro. Thatās what I get from āDark Horseā as well with Ford wanting it to be a Raptor sub brand.
The SC couldāve been the Dark Horse āRā (like the Raptor R) if it wasnāt already used for a race series.
Do they really lose money after re-using some of the stuff theyāve had? I figured they went this route to still produce something awesome, all while trying to recover from some backpedaling other places.
the idea of reusing the S550 chassis was to save money in the first place.
then again...
You know it kinda makes sense because during the reveal, the teal color was referenced as a nod to the Boss 429ā¦.
they couldāve just called this car Boss and called it a day. I still dig it though.
We already figured he didnāt care after forcing the Mustang name on that suv. Thatās after all the backlash from fans and (per their own launch videos) internally as well. Lol
Itās interesting thoughā¦. he did say that Ford may do a few of those (heritage nods) after saying no.
But to what...
At the end of the day though thatās up to Ford, they have to keep the Dark Horse going. As long as they keep winning races in a Dark Horse badged car and market it, it should grow.
Makes sense. Like Iāve said before, the race cars are technically ādark horsesā or have the badge/branding, even the GT3 car. So for them to go all in makes sense.
Iām just glad itās not called the Dark horse boss. š
Eh naw Shelby still is pretty synonymous with performance, but like I said earlier younger generations just donāt know the man as well.
New nameplates are good though, Mach 1 didnāt seem as special to me anymore. Bullitt as well.
I agree. I will say though, they know what a Shelby is in my experience, but as a badge like Hellcat. They donāt know about the person or really care as much.
