With Jim Farley being a former Toyota employee, I figured he wouldāve had some connections to some Toyota engineers to help with quality and improve the manufacturing process. Kinda like what Porsche did in the 90s.
It is a huge leap financially of course but like you were saying, long term you...
Thatās the crazy part to me when I was doing some comparisons. Shelbyās base GT is at the same price level as the ford performance cars. Look at any comment section and those who arenāt in the know think the Shelby American cars are āfakeā now compared to their FP counterparts which is a weird...
Thatās true but then again the GT350 still has a unique engine and transmission. Thatās why I didnāt say make the grill or wheels unavailable or something like that, I was talking more about certain performance upgrades.
I like them all for their own reasons. My older brother absolutely loves Saleen since that was the guy in the late 80s and throughout the 90s.
Just to set the record straight to anyone thinking Iām hating, I love RTR. Original argument is I donāt think Vaughn is like Carroll Shelby. Lmao.
That would be cool too.
Jim Farley posted the teaser on his ig again and it has a little different rear bumper you can see, although itās still a rendered photo š
Yeah I understand that, itās similar to what Saleen and others do just doesnāt make it stand out in my opinion.
Thatās true but itās not like you canāt tell itās a knockoff/bootleg car though. Lol. Itās a similar issue I see with Shelby American too since that Super Snake released, but...
Like I said I like RTR for the most part. Seeing Vaughn drift/drive with normal people at events, being relatable, getting big names in different worlds to drive cars with his badge on it etc, really work in his favor. I just think he walks in his own lane.
Only big complaint I have is he makes...
I see your point but Carroll himself arguably helped established what the performance Mustang is, then you got Le Mans (winning it and helping Ford eventually win), giving input on production cars etc. He essentially created the whole third party Mustang thing too.
RTR to me is more of a...
If they ever bring back a 4 door V8/V6 sports sedan they should call it a Falcon. Thatās essentially what a 4 door Mustang was for awhile and it was legendary over there in Australia
I think itās a Boss. When I look at the Mustang history, the GT350 we got is similar to what a modern Boss would be, whereas a Dark Horse if it lost its rear seat and had other weight savings, is closer to the original formula of the GT350. The Boss like I was saying before was the cool engine...
Boss is a big name in Mustang history, itās Fordās equivalent of a Z/28. The GT350 couldāve been a Boss essentially if they didnāt pay for that Shelby nameplate. Itās one of the original in house track variants.
I mean the Alpha platform for Camaro did exactly that man. It was better dynamically too, which is mainly what I would want.
Pretty much commit to it being a sports car. Shrink it down a bit.
