We, the "vast majority" are not the customer base for a GTD, a GT2/3 or a ZR1. People who are customers for these cars get it. The rest of us post on internet forums.
Couldn’t agree more. It’s fun to fantasize and imagine but the vast majority of our opinions on these things don’t matter hahah

I didn’t watch the comp but… when it comes to Porsche most of us know it’s GT2 or bust… GT3 isn’t even turbo.
That's the point. A 9000 rpm 4 litre flat six with N/A response? Only Ferrari have made engines that sound as good. And, I love blower scream, so the GTD is up there too.
It's not all about numbers, it's how it makes you feel.

I've never been a Ford fan, I am changing though. You have to give Ford credit for what they did. These days front mid engine/ rear transaxle is exotic when all the others are mid engined.
Also, how many CEO's race? I was really surprised to see Farley drive at Le Mans.
Criticise by all means, but give credit where it's due.
Given a huge monetary windfall, one would be in my garage.

Jim Farley couldn't GIVE me a GTD! It's got a "shifter dial" for Christ's sake! šŸ™„ šŸ˜†

I mean I’d take a GTD over the 911 if I had the scratch. Although people hate it’s a hopped up Mustang (some parts of that I understand) at least the service shouldn’t be too crazy.

Early '24; my Focus RS was at the dealer's for service and the loaner they gave me was a cross over with the "shifter dial" in it.

Worked fine, but I found the low profile and polished finish a pain to manipulate (only had it for a few days---maybe a longer acclimation period..........šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø ). Just didn't feel right. Like the very positive tactile and audible sensation of moving my GT's "shifting lever" in and out of gears.

In any event; if Farley or anyone else over at Ford offers to "give me" any model; let alone a GTD it'll likely be right after "it" freezes over. šŸ˜‰

Automatic Mustang's don't have the ability to make manual gear selections via the gear lever, only via the steering wheel paddles. As such, I don't see the problem with the dial arrangement fitted to GTD (and the previous GT 500). In essence, the dial is doing the exact same job as a lever, in that I mean selecting park, reverse, neutral, drive and manual.

Now, if the traditional gear selector had a manual shift function, then yeah, I'd probably complain about the dial. These designs mimic the movement of a manual transmission by pushing forward or pulling back to initiate a shift. The best ones were pull back for an upshift, push forward for a down shift, which was supposed to be in tune with momentum under braking and acceleration. In any case, it adds some tactility to an automatic transmission that paddles alone can't achieve.

Just be thankful it's not the stupid + or - rocker switch that Ford have been using on certain models.
