I was surprised at the price tag of $300K to get a simple EB interior.

I think that at that price level the difference won't matter to a buyer.
To have that tubby GTD so close to a GT3 RS performance and track ability is miraculous in itself.
It doesn't have to beat the Porsche, because the GTD could be a DD, the Porsche is a DTC, Daily track car.
If someone gave me both, I'd keep them both.

The Porsche interior isn't all that special either, looks wise.
To me they are miles away. That GTD interior is a disgrace. That's by far the worst inteior anyone can get for a +$200K car. It looks cheap but most importantly one can get the same interior in a $30K car and a few extra parts from Temu...

I’d still take the GTD if I were in this tax bracket. The interior to me is more of a let down that it’s such an easy thing that Ford missed. Just add some special splashes of color and unique materials here and there and it would have been fine lol

I didn’t watch the comp but… when it comes to Porsche most of us know it’s GT2 or bust… GT3 isn’t even turbo.

i saw a '24 GT3RS with WEISSACH PACKAGE in city a couple weeks back what a stunning looking car . Fit and finish impeccable , no contest . The fact you can buy the porsche for less than a GTD in US is amazing . You are so lucky over there , we get robbed here in Australia . This is one for sale on carsales which on road is around $820k aud . North of $500k usd . One day i hope to see a GTD in the flesh on a trip to US but thats not going to be easy to find .

You cannot really buy the Porsche GT3RS for less than the GTD. Sticker price is not the same as what you have to pay to buy one.

Yes you can. You cannot buy a GTD unless you are someone who's worthy in Fords eyes... There are currently no GTDs on sale so we can only assume a fictional price ...

MSRP vs MSRP. Same goes for the ZR1 and the upcoming GT2 RS. The GTD is simply overpriced. It would be more special if it would cost ZR1 money (think about that?!) or would actually be able to beat cars that are cheaper and have some 300hp less...

The number of folks on here that still do not get it in regards to the GTD amazes me. The car costs what it does. If they could have made it to sell for $200,000 they would have. They couldn't so that's that. People that have that kind of money and buy a GTD understand that.

They also understand that performance is a totally dynamic entity. I beat you today, you beat me tomorrow. There is always going to be someone faster, cheaper, etc., etc.

Yes, the GTD is a speciality car and for the most part unattainable. Same can be said about many other cars. That doesn't mean we do not compare them. It's what car people do.

I never said that these cars cannot be compared… They can and they should. The GTD simply never wins in anything but looks and sound. It’s neither ā€œcheaperā€ nor faster than a C8 or the GT3 RS and both cost significantly less. Besides, it’s not about ā€œI beat you today and you beat me tomorrowā€, quite the opposite. It’s about winning every day - we’re still talking about bragging rights because 99.9% of people who own these cars cannot even come close to a sub 7 minute lap time around the Nürburgring – and in that regard the GTD isn’t as compelling as the other cars mentioned. When the GT2 RS comes out it will match the GTD in horsepower and run circles around it… +1100lbs is just crazy and the reason why the GTD is what it is.

If you have the ability to buy a GTD you probably have the money to buy a second one or whatever you like and in that case buyers probably don’t care. It’s not about what Ford could offer the car for but what I get for the money instead. But for the vast majority of people that will never be able to buy any of these cars the GTD doesn’t look like a ā€˜good deal’…

We, the "vast majority" are not the customer base for a GTD, a GT2/3 or a ZR1. People who are customers for these cars get it. The rest of us post on internet forums.
