Is a greater variance noticed as degradation occurs, granted wonāt know until time to change.Update from days 2 & 3 at Road Atlanta. More of the same thing I saw on day 1, although the high oil temperature from both days was 276 where I hit 280 on Friday. Temps via the AEM gauge and inferred reading on the dash were about as close as you could hope for. I never saw more than a 5 degree difference while on the track, so the inferred value looks very reliable when running 5w-50 on track. So for all the hassle of adding a true oil temperature sensor, I have come to the conclusion it really isn't necessary. Hopefully this eases people's minds when it comes to concern about our Mustangs using an inferred oil temperature reading.
