I took the car out for another run on the highway this evening because I needed to check the transmission fluid, and I was able to get the AEM engine oil temperature gauge up to 245 and the inferred temp showed 238.

The only real trends I can see so far is 1. Cruising at low rpm the inferred temps read high by up to 10 degrees and 2. The inferred temp does not change as quickly as the actual temps shown on the AEM gauge when pushing the car or after easing off. In both instances, the aftermarket gauge shows temperatures either increasing or decreasing faster than the inferred.
How do you get your oil temperature up to 245 on public roads? I have never seen higher than 220s on public roads, trying to increase the temperature.

5th gear on the interstate runs the engine over 5000 rpm. Slow down to about 65, then push it to 80 aggressively enough to put some strain on the engine, but not so much as to get a ticket for reckless driving. You do that a few times and you can get the temperature up. I anticipate I’ll see 290 on the track.

I got out of a very heavy speeding ticket because I had my laptop out and open on the passenger side seat actively running a datalog. Cop saw it and must have been a car guy. Knew it was HP Tuners software. Asked me a bunch of questions making sure I was legit testing a tune rather than being a hooligan - plus my perfect driving record helped. And he let me for for what should have been a very expensive ticket or probably a reckless driving charge...LOL

I was making a pull on a completely dead road and he was in a pull off behind some trees where it looked like a driveway used to be. I never saw him until he was racing up to me as I was decelerating lol.
