Just recently i noticed my mustang hits the rev limiter at 6000 Rpms when i step on it. It is a 6 speed MT and does it on and off, it feels as if the car hit red line while driving and sometimes the auto rev match does not work. I'm going to replace the clutch safety switch as i read somewhere it could be the issue, i did notice the clutch safety switch makes noise when i press the clutch, and its not the spring itself as i have replaced it in the past. Wondering if anyone else has had this issue? I will update the thread after i replace the clutch safety switch to see if its resolved or not. Thanks all!

Are you out of warranty?
Nope, going to try this before i take it to the dealer, service sucks, i took it in for the noise in the clutch spring and they told me there wasn't anything damaged so there's nothing else they could do. Don't want to leave my car there for a couple of days just for them to tell me they couldn't find anything.

got to be an open/close switch. check it with an ohm meter before replacing. as bad as my trust issues are, id probably still hesitate to replace electrical components on this car myself without ford consent. its all linked to the computers.

Gotcha, ill try the Ohm meter! yeah i feel you I'm the same way, but im buying this straight from the dealer its a oem ford part and its completely plug play, i'm really hoping this fixes the issue, even if not i hope the noisy clutch goes away, its been doing it since i first got the car.
