Interesting headlights!

Thought I’d post an update on my Mustang GT.
-Just over one year ownership
-19,340 miles
-No problems or issues
-Gas Mileage: 2-3 more mpg at the high elevations in Colorado, with less power than at sea level; 2-3 mpg decrease with top down; my mpg averages about 26-27, depending on elevation, top up/down, octane of gas (higher octane more power and less mpg), and how heavy my foot is on the accelerator.
-Love it! FUN FUN FUN!
-And some Ai fun with this photo!😉

I never said you can't have a great scenic roadtrip with a regular car. Don't change the parameters.

I said you can enjoy a scenic roadtrip more with a Mustang GT than a regular car.
Cool. But the semantics of a scenic road trip are irrelevant to my original comment about most GT owners not buying these cars for gas mileage.

Nope. Your original comment is this:
"If you're getting that kind of mileage, you aren't driving it to have fun".

You are literally reacting on him, saying he didn't had any fun by having that gas mileage. How do you know he didn't had fun? You do know that every person has fun their own way right?

Ill never understand why people boast about gas mileage in their GT reviews. If you're getting that kind of mileage, you aren't driving it to have fun. These cars are about smiles per gallon, not miles per gallon.
OK Dad. But it is good to know that the buggers can be frugal when in cruise mode.

Good lord. If splitting hairs was an Olympic sport, you'd be a gold medalist.

Obviously I dont know how much fun someone is or isn't have in the literal sense. I personally just dont understand how you can have much fun in a GT and keep that kind of gas mileage. And I also dont understand why GT owners keep boasting about gas mileage in their reviews. Gas mileage was never a consideration when I bought mine. I cant keep my foot out of mine just because I like the sound it makes when I press the gas lol. Thats just my hot take opinion. But if you are having fun driving like Miss Daisy and getting that great gas mileage in your GT then great! I know guys that love their cars and wont rev them past 3k too. 👍🏻

Alright, enough of the high milers... Let's see who can get the lowest gas milage... I have a head start, I get less mileage than most of you GT owners... and I drive an Ecoboost! Game on!

Wow! Wow! Wow. I wasn’t boasting about gas mileage! If I were it would have been in my title!!! I was providing insights into mileage in various driving situations for me. The changes are interesting. If I tracked the car I would havebincluded that also. I didn’t include info such as top speed, etc, as candidly I wouldn’t want to share that.

There are many Mustangs on the road and people purchase them for many different reasons!!
Glad to see you're putting some miles on that beautiful car and not having any issues. It reminds me im overdue for a road trip. Unfortunately my dog wont fit in the back of mine. 😕

Reminds of years ago when I took my late model GTO to a dyno day that had plenty of older guys with late model Vettes. One guy was telling me how he was getting like high-20s MPG and said he wasn't that easy on it. He then asked me what kind of MPG I was getting from my Goat, to which I nicely replied "guessing maybe 16-17, but I didn't buy it for the MPGs!".:cwl: Though it was funny to buy a Vette and talk about the mileage.

Like Junkyard, I'm getting around 16-17 too, but only have a short drive on the highway to get to work and more surface street driving. driving farther gets better mileage in the 19-22 range. Only have about 2.5K on it, so likely will get better as the engine breaks in over more mileage. That's been my experience with many of the cars I've owned.

So glad you are enjoying yours. I have put 21,400 in one year on mine. spent 531:49 hours in her and loved every minute. Top is only up when it is below 50 or I get caught in rain.

19K miles in one year is impressive! Glad to see that I'm not the only one not afraid to put miles on a Mustang. I'm not at your level because I won't drive it in CT winters, but nothing beats a road trip in a Mustang!
