Vehicle: 2024 Mustang Dark Horse (S650)
Adapter: J2534 V200
Software: FORScan v2.4.22 beta (Paid License)

What Happened:
I recently installed a brand new steering rack in my car. While I was trying to program it and flash the correct files to the new Power Steering Control Module (PSCM - Address 730), the strategy file flash failed/interrupted. Immediately after it failed, a ton of errors popped up on the dash, and the steering is now completely stuck and heavy (throwing a U2100 code).

The Current State of the Module:
The PSCM appears to be stuck in a "silent bootloader" loop. Because the software is corrupted or missing from the failed flash, the module is no longer broadcasting its presence on the network.

The Roadblock (Why I'm stuck):
When I connect FORScan to the car, the auto-scan completely skips the PSCM. It does not show up in the main module list at all—not even as an "Unknown" module or with a red X.

To make matters worse, I accidentally deleted my saved local FORScan .profile files.

When I connect, FORScan fails to identify the vehicle automatically, so I have to manually enter my factory PCM Strategy (RR3A-14C204-JK from my As-Built data). It accepts the car and does a fresh scan, but because I have no saved profile to "teach" FORScan that address 730 should exist, the PSCM is entirely omitted from the session.

Because the module is completely missing from the list, I cannot access it in the "Module Firmware Update" menu. I have my factory .vbf files ready, but without the PSCM appearing in that firmware list, I have no way to check the "Recovery" box or force-flash the files to wake it up.

Try disconnecting the negative cable from the 12v battery for 30 minutes to fully de-energize the module and see if it picks it up after you reconnect the battery and rescan it.

He probably doesn't have one in Saudi Arabia. Ford blocks people from accessing FDRS in his region which means people are forced to do things like this when they need to fix something. Because of this, I have some empathy for people that get stuck in these types of predicaments in markets not supported by Ford. However, there is not much I (or others) can do to help anymore since Ford blocked everything.

Normally, I would just tow it to the dealer and let them handle it, but unfortunately, that isn't an option for me. Because I physically swapped the steering rack to a new one outside of the dealership, taking it to Ford now will immediately flag the car and void my warranty

and yes i tried to disconnect the battery for 1h +
But it still has the corrupted file setup
Missing strategy file

Did you let FORScan pull the vbf files from Ford on its own, or did you source the files and bootloader from someone? You cannot count on FORScan to pull the correct files or even all of the files. If the PSCM is hard-bricked, as far as I know, there is nothing you can do but replace the entire rack and try again.

Ok good.....so you got good files.

Is the module getting power and is just not showing up on the network, or is it not getting power?

I wish I could be more of help. Tbh, I have not seen many people on this forum with the knowledge you are seeking. Even though you don't have an F150, I would try posting your concern on the F150gen14 forum. There are a few guys on there with above average knowledge on these kinds of things. Once I see your post, I will tag a few of them to see if they can offer any insight into your issue.

Best of luck to you.

I think its getting power
The issue is that because the firmware flash was interrupted, the module is stuck in 'silent bootloader' mode. It doesn't have the operating system (Strategy file) loaded to broadcast its presence on the CAN network, so FORScan's auto-scan just ignores it completely. It's alive, but digitally silent.

i have posted on f150 forums
Hope someone with knowledge helps here or there

Got it....I think I understand the problem; I just don't know how to fix it. Again, it is possible the module got hard-bricked and cannot be fixed.

I tagged a few people on your post. Hopefully they can provide some useful information.

If you are doing any kind of key on, engine off reflash, you need to hook a battery charger up so that there is no voltage drop. That will abort a program real quick.

We think the problem is TRON. FORScan can't program TRON encrypted modules. That can only be done with FDRS. Livnitup was going to connect him with someone he knows in the UAE that can maybe help. Hopefully they got it resolved.

I gotta ask, why were you replacing the steering rack? 🤔
