Vehicle: 2024 Mustang Dark Horse (S650)
Adapter: J2534 V200
Software: FORScan v2.4.22 beta (Paid License)
What Happened:
I recently installed a brand new steering rack in my car. While I was trying to program it and flash the correct files to the new Power Steering Control Module (PSCM - Address 730), the strategy file flash failed/interrupted. Immediately after it failed, a ton of errors popped up on the dash, and the steering is now completely stuck and heavy (throwing a U2100 code).
The Current State of the Module:
The PSCM appears to be stuck in a "silent bootloader" loop. Because the software is corrupted or missing from the failed flash, the module is no longer broadcasting its presence on the network.
The Roadblock (Why I'm stuck):
When I connect FORScan to the car, the auto-scan completely skips the PSCM. It does not show up in the main module list at all—not even as an "Unknown" module or with a red X.
To make matters worse, I accidentally deleted my saved local FORScan .profile files.
When I connect, FORScan fails to identify the vehicle automatically, so I have to manually enter my factory PCM Strategy (RR3A-14C204-JK from my As-Built data). It accepts the car and does a fresh scan, but because I have no saved profile to "teach" FORScan that address 730 should exist, the PSCM is entirely omitted from the session.
Because the module is completely missing from the list, I cannot access it in the "Module Firmware Update" menu. I have my factory .vbf files ready, but without the PSCM appearing in that firmware list, I have no way to check the "Recovery" box or force-flash the files to wake it up.
