Hey maybe if things go a certain way and I decide on an s650 but can't find a GT PP that I like, I'll get a DH but the first thing I said when I first saw one in person was "whoa that splitter is coming off the car on the way home from the dealer." My neighbor has an s550 with an aftermarket one and he's effectively popped the front fascia clips out of the fenders from hitting stuff with it.

I'd hate to drive a new car around with duct tape on it. Other than that, 3.73's, Torsen, hp bump, triple member coolers and the gud transmission for not much more than a PP.

I drive my GTCS every single day and the splitter is flawless. Just don’t hit shit and the splitter will be fine. Don’t pull all the way up to curbs and get a good sense of how long the hood is. It literally comes down to not hitting things and the splitter will last as long as anything else on the car.

I just purcahsed a DH with the handling package, so it has the larger splitter. I can't even try to pull into my driveway. My CX-5 scrapes going out of my driveway, theres no way the DH would survive.

Blame your contractor not the car. I have had my Dark Horse HP for over two years and my splitter is just fine.

I'm on it. I am in my time machine about to travel to 1967 to tell him.

5k miles and no issues despite being lowered with the Dark Horse Handling pack splitter.

I have a whopping 4" of clearance!

The OP is really scrutinizing every possible angle of getting this car lol. First its the battery. Then its the its the exhaust sound. Then it's the gears. Then its the oil cooler. Then its all the extra stuff on the PP that I dont want or need. Now we're supposedly considering a DH but we're worried about the front splitter. Jesus H Christ. Tomorrow its gonna be someting about the washer fluid. This is nothing short of mental masterbation. Shit or get off the pot and stop wasting everyone's time.

Well, wasting time is a bit of a stretch. That reminds me of kiddos in World of Warcraft complaining about wasting time while ironically playing a game that in fact was a complete waste of time. If you're surfing the forums on a Sunday you've probably got some time to kill.

For the record my major hangup is the exhaust note but since I'd be keeping my lil ol 4.6 instead of getting thieved on a trade-in I don't suppose that's overly important.

I've run into issues protecting my splitter. It's still in good shape on the top and all visible parts but it's got a few dings underneath; probably on the cowl/portion that clips to the body.

I bough the car and lowered it with Steeda Sport Progressives. They lower it about one inch. I had 20" Velgens at the time. Never really had any issues unless the approach/exit was pretty steep.

Thought the 20" rims, with 285/35 front tire, were popping the fender flares so sold the Velgens and went to 19" LMR SVE DHP1s.

Turns out the 20s weren't popping the fender flares; Ford just installed them wrong and wind pressure was popping the pins.

Going to be removing the Steeda Sport Progressives and going to a BMR spring that will lower the car 0.5" and going back up to a 20" rim and tire; that SHOULD increase my ability to drive around streets like Toronto and decrease my anxiety during parking lot entrances and exits.
