Let's be honest! Young people buy automatics so that it frees up a hand to play with the SCREEN! This is the PACIFIER for them.
BTW, I have an A-10 Auto. It works. It's not as much fun but it will bring you across the finish line a lot quicker.
Buy what you want!!

Quite a few of our cops are under investigation for dodgy stuff on their issue I Pads and phones.
It seems the spare hand is not for the screen.
I believe there's been a directive that testicular adjustments must not exceed 15 seconds.

I guess another reason a young guy would want an automatic! Is that what that "M" is for...Manual Operation?
Or just reach for the stick if you wish!

I wanna get one of those lifelike dolls; the prices have really come down. When I was about 18 I bought a cheap $50 one; like the one Bud had on Married with Children. Once during it sprang a pinhole leak at the armpit and I covered it with my palm and kept going and a few seconds later it went ka-BLAM.

I think they start at $800 and really beautiful

Far, far TMI.
Is it true that if they go down on you, you have to pay extra?

When trading my 2024 GT premium convertible - order of questions I was asked by dealers was almost exactly the same: VIN, mileage, smoking in car, manual or automatic. Where I eventually traded it 80% of Mustangs (they sell about 40 a year) are automatic. Of Mustangs that don't sell quickly 95% of them are manuals. I was told purchasers say the 10R80 is faster than any manual and with the paddles the purchasers say it's the best of both worlds. Yes, I know purists will disagree but with basic Mustangs pushing 50K what age do you think most purchasers are and what shape are their knees in for constant friggin' with a clutch? Just sayin' BTW private re-sale with a manual brutal.

I bet the dealer inventory buys are more like 90-95% auto, unless Ford forces a slight push of manuals. Not that many younger buyers interested in manuals anymore, or even know how to use them! Sort of sad, but that is how we are ending up with EVs and no tranny at all! Agree if you want a particular set of options, you do a custom order with a decent dealer and get the best deal you can. That was my strategy of my 2024 GT Premium and I got it about 5% off MSRP plus a very nice 36-month 1.9% loan with only $1000 down! It's worth it to have exactly what you want though! Especially if you plan to keep the car a few years. Why get stuck paying anything for options you don't want that badly? Mustangs aren't that expensive compared to other comparable cars after all! Just my two cents.........
within 100 miles of my city there's maybe 10-20 manuals out of like 100 mustangs. the closest dealership to me has no manual mustangs despite having a dh and around 5-8 mustangs, mostly in great specs/options too, whether that's a desired color or it having the performance package or nite pony package. even the one i bought my mustang it, it was one of 5 on the lot and it was the only manual and was also the worst optioned one there, but i don't really find that to be a bad thing. i don't think ford pushes manuals onto dealerships, your bet is correct that it's 90-95%.

not to mention, for some reason in my state every mustang thats a manual is higher than the automatic msrp, at least from what i remember when i was shopping around for my s650.

If you cannot find manual, just get auto. It’s great. Anyway, you get tired of fiddling with the clutch all the time. Manuals are o obsolete.

No um, to me all you can do fun in an auto is speed and spin tires from a dig; I'd rather do tricks and have full control.

Granted it is more consistent and faster, and you get more thigh time with your passenger princess, and you can eat, drink and otherwise multitask more easily. But still.

Well none if those you mentioned I do. Never spin tires after 13k km, prohibited to eat inside, I focus just on driving. I also don’t care about times, as I don’t race. The 10r80 is outstanding in traffic and general comfort. You should at least try it. It is much better in smoothness than years ago.
Though, I agree you have absolutely more control with manual. That is the only downside I feel. However how many times do we floor our cars in regular days…. ?That is going to vary a lot…

Well if I live long enough for my right soldier or knee to give out I guess I'll have no choice but we'll cross that bridge when we get there.

Sorry, paddles is not even close to driving a stick. Kids these day's either have their girlfriend drive or are to impatient to learn how to drive a stick well. When it's so easy to get in and just push the gas. So they can give all their attention to their phones.
