I'm striking out. Looking for a Grabber Blue Dark Horse.

1. Had a dealer call me back last week but then never sent the email and paperwork like he said he would.

2. Emailed another dealer twice and still haven't been contacted this week.

3. Had a 3rd dealer try to get me to pay a few thousand over their advertised price with add-ons today.

4. Stopped at my local dealer tonight who was really proud of the fact that he thinks he can get well over MSRP on a Dark Horse and wanted me to trade in my paid off TRX for a Raptor R at $30k over MSRP. LOL, yeah right!

This is REALLY pushing me away from Ford. Where are you guys finding solid dealers that are willing to make fair deals?

This whole “deal” mentality is crazy to me.

look up grabber blue DH’s in a 500 mile radius, call the dealers… and that’s what they cost
Buy what you want, A.I. software is telling these dealers to the dollar how high to price and market adjust based on availability and desire to sell.

we have a saying…. “You gonna buy the car or you not gonna buy the car, he not gonna buy the car”

it’s not like there is some super secret dealer that’s gonna lose profit to sweeten a deal

Found the guy that pays what's on the sticker (and probably the add-ons).

I am the type of car buyer that will head to unideal areas for cars that won’t be driven during certain seasons. For example, I bought a Colorado ZR2 in West Virginia during late spring for 5k below MSRP. My Mustang came purchased from Tennessee during winter where snow fall was around the area. I was say keep your eyes open and stay firm to what you want. But I will also say if you are saying a lot of certain things are a must then you gonna have to pay the price. I took a Mustang that was on the lot for more than 6 weeks because no one buying while snow on the ground and then I took that price and went to the color I wanted. I hope this make sense and help.

I don't know where you're located, but there's varies websites where you can search nationwide (for example, visor.vin). Look to see if there's a model in the spec you want and contact the dealer. Especially the 2025s can be had for steep discounts.

I bought my DH in Florida (while located in NY). All the paperwork and most of the communication was done electronically. I got a $4k discount on my 2026 as well (and I think that if you negotiate remotely, you have more leverage since they know you're shopping nationwide and you don't sit in front of them in an office).

For transportation, I used a service that cost me $2k enclosed (I could have done $1.3k for open, but since it was still winter out I opted for enclosed). So as you can see, I still came ahead financially since none of the dealers locally were willing to discount, plus I got the exact spec that I wanted (again, not available locally).

Feel free to PM me or post here if you get some quotes so we can give our 2 cents. For shipping I used Fisher Shipping. Not the cheapest, but a great reputation online and they did a great job with my car.

No, I pay A plan plus rebates.
And I know there is no “haggling” for a deal

but I do hope you enjoy your new dark horse!
Used would be a different story though

Dealer #5 today... negotiated a fair price over the course of the afternoon on a new Dark Horse and received the written quote. A few hours later finance sends me the paperwork with my name spelled wrong in every box, the price $1,500 higher than we agreed to, and the shipping quote listed as "aftermarket products" which doesn't sit well with me. I'm about to run away from Ford all together, this is getting ridiculous.

When I was shopping late last year, I found dealers weren't willing to discount new Dark Horses like they would for new GTs. I ended up ordering a GT from Granger.

Dealer #5 fixed all the errors and I signed the paperwork today! Can't wait for it to arrive! Looking at mods already and have REALLY big dreams for a winter project that I hope to share at some point.

Thank you all for the input and especially thank you for visor.vin, exm!
