@ZXMustang I am new to this. Is the RTD locked to a tuner or I could use it in the future with another tuner?
Yeah you can use it with any tuner. The credits are used for that car. If you wanted to use it on another car you would just need more credits. But any tuner can be added to your TDN, grab your stock file and make you tunes. And we don’t see the old tuners tunes either.

So if I buy this, I can revert to OEM settings just in case I need to bring the car to the dealer for warranty purposes?

Yes. Tons of my folks have had to flash back to stock to go in for warranty work. No issues yet and it’s been since last July since tuning came out. I haven’t heard of anyone being denied warranty work from a tune or ford knowing it was tuned and returned back to stock.

Installation was easier than i expected, but your dealing with HPtuners first and then Palm Beach Dyno. I set up an account with HP tuners and downloaded their app on my phone. You buy RTD4 credits from PBD. Once PBD sends RTD4, you have to sink with app, then copy your factory tune. Email PBD and they download your tune and then load their tune on app. You then load PBD tune to car. Your orginal tune is still loaded on app if you ever need to go back to stock. Hardest thing was to datalog for PBD, idle, cruise and WOT in 4th for A10 to 8k rpm (like 44mph to 90). So problem was finding a road where you coild do without traffic and also avoid a ticket. Most notable delta is in stock driving modes. You feel the difference immediately. Not to say that perf is in other modes as well. Going to ask PBD if the fuel, timing, cams changes are the same in all driving modes or not.
Mine is a 6 speeds. Hopefully I notice a difference like you did! I know it won't be day and night difference, but I sure hope for that torque bump down low

Looks like the promotion has ended? Guess I'll wait for the next one. Since this is all new to me, is this what I would need?

And I guess the promotion was a $150 discount?

They said on their livestream the other day that the promotion was an especially good deal because they are going to raise their tuning prices

A tune will likely void your engine warranty
They have to prove that the tune caused the engine failure. I have owned mustangs since 1989.
Since 2016 have been using tunes on my mustangs and have had several of my mustangs go to the dealership for different issues. They knew i had a tune on the car and never a issue with warranty. I blew my clutch on one mustang down shifting to pass a truck my mustang died. I had headers and different upgrades and upgraded differential gears. The clutch exploded into pieces. The service manager said because of all the upgrades and tune. That caused the clutch to fall i told so you are saying a stock mustang gt clutch can't handle over 400hp. That shut him up and they replaced the clutch. The mechanic said it was a defective clutch disc it shredded into pieces. No damage to the pressure plate and flywheel was fine. The car had 7,000 miles on it.

No I didn't they have to prove that the tune caused the engine failure. Ford is know for engine failures on their cars. Like the Gt350 and Gt500 and their trucks. I am a certified tech since 1983 and worked for numerous ford dealerships. I specialized in car computers since day one they when installed and also doing troubleshooting for mechanical failures. I actually offered a job with the FBI NYC to maintain their fleet since they don't allow agents to bring their bureau cars to repair shops. I have helped numerous friends and people who get screwed by the dealership over warranty. One of the reasons I stopped working for dealerships. They know me so well that if there's a recall they give me the part to install myself. I bought a 2014 Shelby Gt500 in 2020 6,800 miles. Took it home found that most of the rubber was dry rotten and when I replaced the belts 3 pulleys failed water gotten into the bearings. The original owner most likely washed and put back into his garage. So I went back to the dealership spoke to the general manager. He ordered me new pulleys and belts for free. Of course he didn't bother offering me to have it done at the dealership. Lol
My buddy ordered the ranger raptor Took almost a year to get it he had it for 3 days it would not start. The dealership picked up the truck they had it 3 months a tech came down from headquarters. He couldn't figure out what was wrong so gave him his money back because he paid it off. But now he was stuck with all the aftermarket parts he bought for the exterior almost 2 grand. So I spoke to ford headquarters to the person who was handling his claim. I told her that he can't return the parts without losing money. I told her it would not be good for ford getting bashed by me on all the car forums about you not being able to fix a brand new truck. She added 2 grand to the payout.

I know all that, but you're very likely to get your claim denied. If you hurt the engine and it has an aftermarket tune.
I honestly don't see them covering the clutch either except in some very rare case

Depends on who is speaking to the dealership if you don't have a back ground in Automotive especially trade school and experience. Then you may have a problem solving your problem. I have built numerous fast cars since the 80s. If the clutch blew because of my own stupidity. I could easily replace myself it's not a hard job and I would have put a stronger clutch setup. He saw all the work I have done to the suspension. Every clutch has a hp & torque rating. I have a tune and pulley ,throttle body. I drive all my cars extremely hard and fast haven't blown the clutch and I never have since my younger days. If you research and see how many people get turned down for a simple warranty. There are lawyers out there that hate dealerships and will do pro-bono work. I got fired from speaking up for a customer the service writer's were ripping them off.
Even as I said with the FBI if we had to bring a ford crown vic for warranty work. The dealership never knew it was a government auto. I pick up the car the service writer tells me the bill is a 155.00. I said that I never authorized the service he said if I didn't have it done my warranty. I showed him my ID. He changed his story and have you ever read about dealership mechanics taking your car home or even for the weekend into another state?

I just received my base tune. Will be testing it today and will start datalogging. Is there a way to look at logs myself? I come from cobb accessport world and I was able to check my logs an send them in Virtual dyno to see the difference between stock and tuned. I don't thing it's a thing on the rtd...

Yes I'm pretty sure you can. I was just hoping to be able to do it on the app rather than having to carry my laptop
