i cannot remember when, but this has been mentioned before. maybe a year or so ago. i had, i believe during break in miles, a similar occurrence on startup. a definite rhythmic shake definitely a misfire. fortunately as the engine warmed, the miss cleared and the engine ran fine. could have been a wet or semi fouled plug. it happened only once pretty noticeable and maybe another time not as bad but not in the last year. unfortunately coils are electronic parts and do go bad. catch it early, have it replaced and I hope you enjoy your car as most of us do.

I have had cars with leaky head gaskets drop coolant into a hole, when the car starts there is a misfire or two until the combustion pressure and heat seal the leak, but then the car smooths out and runs fine.

I am taking drops of coolant level of liquid in the cylinder, it only became evident when I pressurized the cooling system and stuck a borescope camera down into the hole and I could see just the slightest bit of coolant pooling on the piston

believe me I thought of all this. I am a self-employed mobile Marine mechanic, so you know I went to the worst with a brand new car. valve seal, head gasket, coil, valve train. I let it go when the problem didn't represent itself. it seems as long as I continue to drive it like I stole it, but want to keep it around for a long time, she treats me right 😉

Hi everyone.

Bought a DH, last year, from official dealer, EU spec. Brand new. Now I got around 10.000kms.

A week ago while doing a small weekend trip, flashing engine light (yellow). Car started to shake. Stopped, restarted and everything was fine.

Did notice a different vibration sometimes on startup, but not really noticeable.

Got the car to the dealer for the corresponding maintenance that the app was asking already, and told them about this.

They plugged the car to the computer to check and... I could see some pictures added on their dealer app that shows status of your car etc, spark plug removed, changed, run a few Kms, plugged again and... Still errors. Cylinder 1 coil issues... Now waiting for replacement from Germany.

I thought this was a known issue on S550 platform, not on this one.

Honestly, between this and the BCM recall, on a brand new car with these Kms... Worries me.

Should I ask for extend the factory warranty? Escalate the complaint to Ford HQ? Sell the car and that's it?

Anyone else had these issues?

Thanks.
Your going to sell your car because a coil pack failed? That's like putting a dog down because it has worms.

Hahaha, yeah, fair enough. It will depend if in the coming months it stays put or not!

All this talk about engines shaking is bringing me back to running solid motor mounts back in the day.

just sitting idle at lights the chassis would rock.
Felt SOOO good having the engine tied into the body.

I love watching my Shaker scoop shake.
