If your hood is flexing that much with respect to the frame of the car, you definitely have bigger issues than a bit of hot air being sucked in through your air filters.

I would also assume that the insulation on the bottom of your hood will be cooler to the touch (and measured) than a hot piece of plastic (the cover). Again, I haven't measured this myself, but it is the nature of insulation; this is just observation and deduction.

As far as the flex, there may be some, like a very, very small amount, but the nature of a RUBBER FLEX SEAL should negate any "rubbing" you may think there is. Now, there will be an impression on the hood insulation as pressure is being put on it, but it's not going to destroy it. Remember, the boxes are mounted to the frame of the car and do not torque with the engine; the movement will be near zero.

The 100+ degree heat is negated by the insulation you've been talking about. Go run your car for 30 min down the road, pop the hood, touch the plastic intake box part, and then touch the insulation. I guarantee you the insulation is cooler to the touch (or measure it).

I don't think you've done enough research to claim what you've typed out, or at least done in comparisson to those that have done dyno pulls to show the differences between these setups with air boxes.

Not trying to be an ass, but a bit of research and a few YouTube videos go a long way.
Boy you got an answer for everything don’t you. Wow!🥸

His answer was spot on. And you sound like a 7 year old losing an argument. 🤡

Ryan, being 7 years old sounds appealing to me. Less pain sounds nice.

However if I were 7 years old i would not be wasting my time typing to a couple of people with nothing better to do than boosting their own egos on a website making assumptions about topics with no knowledge of or backup data.

You see Ryan, I really don’t care what you and Ronin think or say about me. Let it rip! Your negative attitude and comments towards me doesn’t matter! Your vote doesn’t count.

I know I’m right, Ford engineers say they are right, about the lower intake temps the current closed air box has over the open box design.

I’m done talking about this!!!!

Have a nice day boys!👏👍🎉🤣

I know I'm old, but the dyno results you posted are for a 2023 Ford Mustang Dark Horse. Wasn't 2024 the first production year for the Dark Horse?

Beautiful system. Love the carbon look. :like:

If you didnt care what we thought you wouldn't be replying directly to us and getting so offended.

Also, I need to point out that I dont know you from Adam, but on two occasions you have dropped into a thread to flame me out of the blue with no cause. So please dont play the " you have a negative attitude" card. You chose the direction of this conversation. If you're going to be a keyboard warrior on a car forum, then thats your choice not mine.

Agree, little beyond budget of most, but one of the best cold intakes I have seen yet.

[...] A seal against the hood liner isn't any different, and may in fact be better, than a heat-soaked plastic lid. The hood liner will be considerably less hot. Just my $0.02, and I have not taken any data to confirm this.
Another key point to consider: our airboxes integrate directly with the OEM inlet ducting and use that ducting as the primary source of cool air for both filters.

By retaining Ford’s intended inlet path and increasing total filter surface area, the system provides the necessary airflow to the engine.

Below is a clearer view of the inlet opening we designed on this S-FLO Intake System. You can also reference the installation instructions for detailed images showing how the AWE system interfaces with the factory ducting here (specifically steps 18 and 24).

Why yes, yes I do. I guess being an engineer has its perks! Like I said, not trying to be an ass, but backing up useful information with useful knowledge and deductive reasoning, instead of "I think", helps others out in making informed decisions.

Look like a pretty solid piece, any other color options for the filters?

Plain white would be nice. Not a deal breaker but I wanted to ask the question.

We do not offer any other filter color options at this time. The filters that we use have been tested and are a trusted part of our intake development process. If you'd like, you can contact us via our product request form to have your voice heard. We read and catalog every request submitted by our customer base.

Just curious, has anyone installed one yet? I'm seriously thinking about ordering it. I know. Expensive and not a lot of additional horsepower, but I like the looks of it.

Ordered one yesterday, I don't know how long before it arrives.
Maybe not a lot of power but add an exhaust and custom tune and the combo should be solid.
I have the double H-Pipe with resonators and a tune ordered, once I install the intake, I'll install the custom tune.
I bought it for power gain and the looks as well.
